even though i rang them countless times to inform them of the change they have now hit me with an 8 month bill for £2400!! i was originally told i would be billed quarterly and now only have 12 days to pay it.....wot can i do, where do i stand!! HELP!!

Go to energywatch. They help consumers who are having problems with gas or electricity companies. Ofgem don't deal with individual complaints, they regulate the energy industry as a whole.

Contact the company and arrange to set up a direct debit to pay off the debt. If you are unable to do this ask them to send you a budget card out and pay it up weekly. Do not contact energywatch or offgem as you realised that you would be getting billed from April and sorry to say you should of budgeted for this impending bill.

Bet it might have been scottish power , they did similar thing to me , then got so many bills from them and all say different amounts. Be careful it gets more and more confusing the more you ask the company for help.As for a itemised bill, they often cough at that as it can expose stuff
