After seeing the documentary on television, the main point I got out of it is that while Walmart may be offering consumers lower prices, that they are forcing manufacturers of those good to export jobs to China. So, I guess my real question is, what good is having low priced items if we are losing millions of jobs to China and the only jobs available to Americans are low wage jobs, such as fast food places, or for that matter, a job at Walmart itself. I was left with the final impression that Walmart is helping to destroy America and will end up lowering our standard of living.

I recently submitted a claim (very legit) and the adjuster has rejected it. Is there an appreals process for this? We have asked the agent and adjuster about this and they say no. But there has to be one, with out getting a lawyer and dragging this on for 5 years.
Thanks!

I'm just now filing my tax returns for 2004 and 2005. I waited since I knew I had refunds coming to me. I expect to receive these refunds in 2007. Will I then have to report them as income received in 2007 and pay taxes on those refunds? I didn't think I would but a friend thinks I'll have to treat it as income since I waited too long (over 1 year)

You have to do a few phone/online conference calls and you are on a probationary period. They say if you have a drive, you can become a successful scout. I am interested, but nervous because of these promised work from home scams. Are there any scouts out there who are currently working with said companies and are indeed making a real (legitmate profit?)

I started a small Web-based business out of my, mostly for fun and to learn about dot-com stuff. The business isn't making any money yet and don't expect it to do so for at least a year or two. However, there are expenses related to running it, i.e. home office supplies, heat, water, web space, etc. Can I take any deductions off the income from my full-time job?

i bought this business..and all in all ive done pretty decent so far (its only been 6 months) but i do everything from accounting to putting jobs together. in the process i hired an employee that seems to be making more and more mistakes both big and small...most of the time leaving me having to redo work. i cant seem to find anyone capable of doing trivial things like cutting glass and using rulers. and with christmas around the corner, I'm under a ton of stress. how do i find a decent employee?
