I have a 401K currently with my employer and since inception it has returned 15% overall and in the last 3 months 8.65%.

I have a high interest savings account that pays 5.50% but I was wondering would I do better with an IRA? I currently put in $50 a week into the savings account.

I'm an I.T. guy, and I have an idea of starting up an online business. I know tons of stuff in different areas in I.T. (Email, network, security, database and etc) but except web. I know nothing about it. If I'm going to hire someone to do the web stuff for me, I'm afraid he/she will steal my idea. What should I do?

this is aside from some of the charitable contribution that they give to ease their tax burden, make the 3% available by giving the poor and disadvantage of this country more on education social needs, and of course job generating causes, pls.do not just give this as some sort of welfare but as something thats available to the poor and disadvantage that will help them uplift themselves and help them in the long term, not in short terms only.

Okay, so I have bad credit. That was six years and 3 months since my last payment to two credit cards. Both accounts have been bought and sold many many times over the past years, but now because the seven years is almost up they are calling me day and night, leaving messages on any phone they cen. They even got my cell phone number that I use for emergecies from somewhere (not from me). One agency after much debate finally told me that they will turn it over to the IRS with some 1099C and let them handle it. Then they called me two days later and asked if i was going to pay yet. The other company finally disclosed their name *** and said they would call back again and again until i take care of this. I told them not to call after seven pm MST becasue my son went to bed at that time. They have called me everyday after 8pm. How do I get them to stop. They claim the 7 yrs is from the time they bought the account which is wrong but how do I get them to stop??

I've seen so many comcerials saying that you can get U.S grants for little/silly things.. like rent, car insurance, home heating. How much truth is there to this? And if there's any truth, how do I further research going about doing this.. Other than buying one of those ridiculous CDs from that crazy guy in a question mark suit?!?!

I enrolled at an area college back in 2001 due to personal reasons I had to withdraw, they never put it through, but kept all the financial aid money. It is now on my credit report because the college never told them I left and like I said never returned the money I think I have finally gotten my perkins all set but I'm still trying to deal with my stafford loan. They took over $1000 from my taxes and 2 diffrent student loans show up on my credit report what is the best way to have this taken off my credit report and get back my money????? I do have a letter from the college stating I did in fact withdraw and it was never put through. Please help me with this one. I don't know what else to do I tried disputing it with the credit agencies because that's what the college told me to do but it came back "no change". I want to buy a house and this is hurting me along with some other little things that i'm taking care of.

I know with friends that have children that receive about $3000 back in taxes for the year when they file. Do you get more money back being married? We got married in January this year so always filed separately and in previous years have only gotten back a few hundred, if that. Would we get more now? We both made approx. $18,000 each last year.

The saving bond is being purchased for a child. If it matures in say, 7 years, do you just cash it in and buy another one or does it continue to accrue interest until she needs it for school?
