I recently went through a nasty divorce and had to pay a lot to my ex husband AND got to keep all the credit card debt. I have been unable to make payments on 1 card, they are willing to settle, and I need to take this oppurtunity. Other than that card, my credit is/was excellent. Is there any way I can try to get them to not report it as "settled"?

The system says it was forwarded to vendor- but I need this job and the wait is killing me. Has anybody here ever worked for Pep Boys? How long did it take for your background check to get through?
