My mother-in-law needs to sale a house she ownes. At this point the actual house is un-livable. It is really run down and needs a lot of work. The house is on a 1/2 acre in a prime location (located in NM). If we did sale the house we would be selling it more for the property value then the house value. Can a realtor handle something like this (because it wont pass any type of inspection) or would she need to sell it on her own? How can she ensure she is covered legally?

I started an online boutique store to sell items I make as well as drop shipping for other boutiques.... I am filling out my tax/use tax form and it asks if I am registering for sales tax. Then the definition is:

Register for Sales Tax if you:
-Sell tangible personal property to the end user from a Michigan location (wholesalers do not need to register).

Would I say yes or no to this for an online store?

I was sacked from my job today.

My boss says I was sacked because I was talking down to him and treated him with no respect. I've asked the only other person in the office if he thought that was true and he said no and couldn't believe I'd been sacked. I haven't signed a contract with the company (only been there 2 months) but I have got a letter confirming that I'd got the job, which I've been told can act as a contract for up to 3 months. Last week someone spread rumours about me which weren't true and I've got a funny feeling my sacking had something to do with this. This person has since left the company.

Does anyone know if this is true? Can I go for unfair dismissal?

I briefly considered a career in nursing, but I was scared away by all of the horror stories of b*tchy, cliquey, catty coworkers, mistreatment and attitude from patients, doctors who look down on nurses, mean supervisors, lack of retirement savings, physical and mental stress, etc. (just google "i hate nursing" to read it all). I know there are good points and bad points to each career, but it seems like the people who hate their nursing careers REALLY hate it a LOT. Some nurses were so depressed by their jobs that they cried all the time and wanted to commit suicide. Is it really that bad?

I'd like to get a Master's. Are there any careers out there that are high in demand and will allow me to move around fairly easily? (For example... work a year in Chicago, then move to Honolulu and work a year there, then maybe work a year in Australia, etc.)

I mean think about it. Banks like Capital One Providian Premier Bank American Expresss etc are all nice enough to give people credit card loans to those who need it. Problem is you irresponsible clods abuse it max it out & then don't want to pay back. And then you all get mad when these Collection Agencies call your house trying to get money that rightfully belong to the Banks & Credit card companies? If you clods were more responsible with your credit this wouldn't be happening now would it? So stop moanin & crying about Credit card companies & Collection Agencies calling you. Be responsible & pay your loan back you lazy simpleton's

It is on West Avenue so he wants the store to start with the word WEST. It is going to be a thrift style store that will sell both new and vintage/retro items and maybe a few things on consignment.

Any catchy ideas!

I am just starting out with using a credit card. If I make the minimum monthly payments, could a credit card company ever suddenly take your money out of your account or garnish your wages without forewarning in order to pay the full amount owed? I don't really know how credit cards work yet.

I want to make my son the primary benificiary to my life insurance policy, but what if I died when he was only 4 years old? If my sons father (my ex husband) got custody of my son and my son was the only benificiary would my ex husband have access to that money? I want part of that money to be used for my funeral and burial, if my son was only 4 how would he be able to use that money for my funeral, who would have legal rights to say what the money is used for?
I have talked with my insurance company and they said I cannot assign an executor of estate? I live in California and they said if there was no legal guardianship of my son when I die they money is held until my son is a certain age??? Then the money would not be allowed to be used for my funeral???
What is the best thing to do in order to make sure that I have a burial and that my son has money to survive without my ex-husband having access to it? If he got control of that money my son would never see it.

Is there a way to find out if someone has taken out a life insurance policy on you, without your knowledge, much less permission? And if they have, is there a way to have that policy cancelled or any other legal reprocussions?

We had had some medical difficulities and we were paying off credit cards one at time, $400-$700 per credit card per month as spreading small payments across many credit cards wasn't getting us anywhere. Today, my husband's bank account was locked and ALL funds withdrawn. I understand that they can garnish wages but wipe an entire account clean of over $2000? I thought there was some protection against that and there was a cap of 25% or something. I have 2 small kids with needs and 2 weeks until he gets paid again.
