This website says that third party companies who buy credit card debt are not legally entitled to it because the consumer did not enter into a contract / agreement with the third party. For this reason, it says, the debt doesn't have to be paid to a third party once it's been charged off. Consumers need to be careful about sending a single payment after that point, because the "clock starts ticking again" as far as the debtors being able to hound you.

My wife and I both have a Depepndent care plans at our jobs, I know that we are allowed to contribute up to $5000 per year into the account for daycare expenses and I also know that the IRS provides a dependent care tax credit for expenses up to $3000 per year.

Since our yearly daycare expenses are close to 10k can we use both tax saving programs to our advantage or are there any restrictions?

I'm new at this...but it just seems so impossible to make any money in real estate. You have to pay for loan of the down payment, the property tax, insurance and mortgage......renting it out is not enough to cover the entire cost of all these components. The only way I can see making money is by it appreciating in value over time. Will the rent ever exceed these other costs...is it worth holding on to and putting your own money in? How do people buy 20 houses? I just want to know. Thanks for your input!

someone out there that resolved a similiar situation with some sage advice. i've been putting off the inevitable. i need to know answers to several questions: do i need an attorney if i have no assets--property, etc. if not, do i use a tax negiotator or go solo? and if i do need an attorney, what would be reasonable fee for their services. i owe approximately $40,000 to the IRS and all i have is a retirement account that i can liquidate--with a substantial penalty involved. i'm willing to pay what i owe, but not the penalties and interest because i still have to deal with california's franchise tax board bill. if they won't budge is the possibility of bankruptcy a good bargaining chip? or can it backfire with possibilty of jail time. help. i let this go because i have major medical problem (physical) that had me feeling soo bad that i thought was going cause me to die young, thereby relieving of the burden. well, i didn't die and the malady is treatable. so no lecture, just advise, pls

This group will be a community service/awareness group for adoption. We will inform people about adoption and how to reunite if they want to with someone in their biological family and we will also be raising money for non-profit adoption organizations/orphanges. They told me to try to come up with a flyer that would catch people's attention. I want to do something other than just make it a bright pink color. I thought about cutting them into different shapes with construction paper. Any suggestions? Please no rude comments. Thanks.

In the last 3 years I have gone donwn hill financial...all in trying to help my family. 1st my 2nd son was drugged while at a bar...results, he ripped up a town, stole and damaged 2 vehicles, and is now forced to pay restitution for something he can't remember doing. 2nd, my oldest son has gone through a bitter divorce, leaving him with alot of credit card and other debt. I have been trying to help them both to get their diginty back and keep food on their tables. They are both working hard but needed help...that was me. In my motherly ways I thought I could do it, but it is leaving my check book drained, and my credit cards are becoming maxed out. I only want to help but I am lost and need to find a way to clear my debts before my husband finds out. I know this sounds tacky and sneeky but my husband doesn't want any thing to do with the finances, he leaves it up to me. I feel like I failed just to want to help. ANYONE OUT THERe WHO CAN HELP???
