Well, the Russians do appreciate expertise in both areas. There is also a link to European thinking, through the work of Peter the Great. The Russians also helped the U.S. against the British, during the American Civil War. He would probably stand a good chance of being hired, depending on his fluency in Russian.

Pretty good if they have an American university there. They are all over, check it out. And further, they are always looking for English teachers.
