I have developed an allergy to isothiazolinone. It is used to stablize coolant in industrial settings. It is also found in some shampoo, laundry soap, inks, ect. I believe I may have been over exposed to it at work. I lost a workmans compensation claim because it is found in many products. I have been off my job for five months and have not had another skin infection.
My employer said they were looking for a different job, but it is slow there now and most jobs involve chemical contact.
Should I wait this out or find a new job and quit ? Previous to this job I had worked for a company for 25 years without a skin problem. It is only my hands that where affected.
I worry about how this willeffect my work record. Is it best to wait it out or find a new job. This had been a very good paying job.
Thanks for any suggestions
