has anyone ever heard of LPC credit compnay where you get an amount of credit to shop in the LPC catalogue with the credit limit? Then they charge 50$ or 10% (whichever is greater) to your checking account?

I was looking to go to school for massage but I wanted a little feedback before paying for school and then maybe not being able to find work in what I went to school for. A little feedback would be nice. Would you also be willing to receive a massage or pay for how much they ask?

Oprah Asks: How would you pay it forward? Paying it forward is simple -- do something selfless for someone without expecting a reward. What would you do? Watch Monday's Oprah (check your local listings) and visit Oprah.com.

How selfless do you think Oprah really is? How selfless do you think you are?

A couple of years ago I had to pay additional tax - i.e. in addition to what was already being witheld by my employer. Since then I have been witholding and additonal sum by indicating it in my W4 and usually get a small refund back.

My question is, does it more sense to instead put more money in my 401K (I have not maxed out). Will the tax sheltered nature of this investment have the same benefit vis a vis taxes as the witholding through w4?

I had put in 2 weeks a week ago. My manager conned me into giving him 2 business weeks (10 business days that I am there working). I was out sick for a day and is planning on leaving early but my next job starts shortly after my 2 weeks. I am out of PTO days and he wants me to stay for additional days that I am out sick. Is that legal?

What does it mean in this context? The housing boom spurred economic activity because consumers refinanced at lower interest rates, allowing them to spend their savings from the lower interest rate.

My son is 22. We gave him the boot in October. I still pay his health insurance and I'm trying to get him a phone hooked up. On the form to see if he qualifies for lifeline (a cheap phone rate) he has to check that he is not claimed on anyone's income tax. He wrote in there that for 10 months he was a dependant on our income tax. Is this going to create big problems for us? Should we just suck it up and pay for his phone until he can afford it?

My paycheck was recently given to the wrong employee (same last name). The store didn't notice, the other employee didn't notice, and the bank even took the check. It took 4 days just to figure out the above information. The store told me to check back the next day to see what was going to be done. The next day, the store manager tells me that the other employee should be writing me a check and calling me to get the check to me. It's been 5 days and I haven't received a call. I don't think it's right for me to have to get her info and try and track HER down to get MY money. Also, she now has my paystub with my personal info. Is there anything I can do, maybe legally against the store or the bank for this kind of error? Should I just suck it up and take care of it myself? This is so frustrating!

Hi there, I am looking to possibly buy my first home next spring, and am thinking along the line of a townhome or a condo. I was wondering your opinion on both of them, what the pros/cons were, if you own one, and if you enjoy owning them, or if you own one and hate it, and wish you had bought the other. Please let me know your thoughts...thank you!
