It is certainly a possibility. However, it depends a lot on several factors. How old are you currently? Can you devote some time to get educated in this field?

Also, keep in mind that there are not many computer engineers. Most computer related jobs are in software, not engineering. Many computer engineers in the USA do sophisticated repair and analysis work. There is not that much computer engineering work, since a lot of it is now done overseas.

Finally, a computer engineer's average pay is about 75,000, I think. Other occupations that can use your analytical mind, such as a physician, patent attorney, etc., can pay you much more.

Might not be a bad idea, if you like software, maybe get into designing origanal programming also? just a thought
