I got another job, better paying, so I quit my job at Macy's by not showing up. Bad thing to do, I know. Anyway, I interviewed today to go back (in another state) and they told me I'm not in the system so they'll have to do a 're-check' (whatever that is) and get back to me.

If, and when, they find out I quit without notice, do you think there's a chance I'll get my job back?

We are hoping to get a loan for a max amt of $30,000. We want to pay it of in 5 years or less. What are the odds we'll be able to do that w/o getting ripped off? Oh, we're military too...if that helps. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Hello,

I rent an apartment in a house. My phone line went bad. The phone company said it was an old line and that the wiring inside the house would have to be replaced. My landlord says I must pay for the repairs. Is it my landlord's responsibility to provide a working phone line to my apartment?

I just got a bonus from my summer job. It's about $500. I also owe a lot. I just got my car fixed and that's $232. And then what I have left to pay on my car insurance is $160. I also owe a lot on my credit card. I could put that $500 towards those things and completely not even think about it (would it be worth it?) However, I also would like to do this on my own, put that money away, and use my regular paychecks to pay that stuff off. I get paid this Friday. My paycheck should be around $400, which is just enough to pay for my insurance and car bill. I don't have to pay my car bill until mid-January, so I don't HAVE to use this paycheck for that. I know that I can pay off all of my debt on my own. It just may take a couple months, which is fine with me. I'm also afraid that if I put that $500 onto my credit card that I'll just charge $500 again and then that $500 would've gone to waste! Should I just save the money? I've been wanting to start up a savings account.

I received a mail saying that this is super secret so i shouldn't tell anyone. i possess a rare trait that's why they picked me and a handful of people. but in order for me to know their secret, i need to mail them the reply by Friday. Being the skeptic I am, i searched it and found that indeed it's a scam. So, if you receive one of these things, just throw it away. if you receive any letter promising that you'll make a lot of money, research it first. Also if they say that you've won money, research that also. Better Business Bureau, Yahoo, Google, Ask.com to name a few

Hi guys, I applied at UPS for a Package Handler position, well I filled out a short form and they said there's nothing else needed. It's been 2 weeks so I am not I am going to be contacted? Also, I filled out an application for Driver Helper and I filled out the job application and all tax forms and have been scheduled for a meeting. I was just wondering, if anyone here knows, does it take a while to get contacted as a Package Handler, or should I apply again later? Also, is the driver helper position any good?

I mean, come on. It's easy for them to say. Wealthy people saying "money isn't everything" is the biggest joke--especially since they don't have to go through the daily struggle of being broke--which can be absolutely miserable!!

I'm sixteen and I've been searching around for a decent job. What I'm unsure of is whether it would be more profitable to work at a store or at a restaurant. The jobs I'm considering at the moment are Marsh, Texas Roadhouse, Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, Targer or Pucchini's. I like the restaurant atmosphere much more than a store's, but I'm not sure about the pay at restaurants. I know you work for tips, but do you actually get more working at a restaurant than at a store (I do live in a sort-of ritzy area, so I don't expect the tips to suck)? Also, other job suggestions are welcome. :)

choose one.
A) Love
B) to procreate
C) whatever you make it
D) One time, I took a walk on the beach and ventured very far from where my family was staying at the hotel. I probably wandered down the beach for around 3 miles when I realized the severity of my predicament. I began crying uncontrollably and fell to a heap on the beach, screaming for my mommy. After a few minutes, a nice young lifeguard named Chad took me up in his toned lifeguard arms and rocked me until I stopped crying. Once I calmed down, he gave me a juice box and a pack of fruit snacks from his own bag lunch. We talked for a few minutes, and eventually he figured where I was staying from the rudimentary description I was able to give him. He walked me all the way back the three miles to the hotel, holding my hand, warning me again and again not to wander too far when I'm on the beach. I told him I understood and he took me right up to my frantic mother, assuring her that all was well. And after that, everything really was. I know this may have only taken place last weekend, but I know that this event will stay with me for the rest of my life.
