No, not really - you can't begrudge the wealthy everything. I have several close friends that could be considered loaded. One particular man watched his wife die of cancer slowly and painfully, he stated many a time "money isn't everything" and he would be cheerfully broke for the rest of his life if it meant his soul mate would still be here.
Just because people are well off, it doesn't mean they don't know or value what's really important in life

When they say, "Money isn't everything," they're not saying money isn't ANYTHING. They're just saying there's more to life than money. And that's coming from people who already HAVE what many people are still trying to get, thinking the money would mean bliss, and the end of their troubles.
Of course money is important, to live comfortably, to live at all. Having nothing at all means misery. In the end, however, you can't buy happiness. It's been scientifically proven, and that's what I believe, too. And I'm not rich.

each and every year because the Eighties taxes have gone up average for the middle classification and down for those a touch extra powerful off. this is to the point the position Warren Buffet's secretary will pay a more advantageous price of earnings tax than he does. each and every year the SSDI exception ceiling is raised, and this suggests my taxes move up--and pondering my wages were extraordinarily a lot stagnant for the awesome 6 years..... i'm not complaining, in spite of the indisputable fact that it rather is how that's. We ran up wide deficits with a view to provide the wealthiest individuals a wide tax decrease in order that that they have got a decrease powerful price than Warren Buffet's secretary;in the interim, taxes on the middle classification went up because of caps being raised on SSDI contributions and the AMT.

another day another myth. and not a true one. I agree with yourlast statement that we all "struggle" to make ends meet. but to generalize the whole idea of money is everything or isn't everything on the back of the rich is not fair. many people -- rich and poor use this generalization and it is true from their own perspective. money is important-- let's have no doubt about it...but "everything" is ain't --- money can not cure fatal diseases, money can not buy time, money can not buy happiness, money can buy sex but not love...the list is endless. the point is -- everyone is right -- moneys does play a role. and the ones feeling towards non-monetary values...play in most cases a more important role. i love nature, no money could buy me the love of nature and the beauty i see. I rest my case. You can go on with your myth.

I usually hear that saying from poor people. Not rich people. I was told that broke people created that saying "money isn't everything" because broke people never had the $ to experience things.

Actually I don't ever hear rich people say it,... I hear poor people say it, at least here, around me. I ask them if they are ok with the way they live and they instantly say money isn't everything.
Everyone wakes up each morning with decisions to make regarding their money... some simply choose to buy things that make them more money instead of buy stuff for around the house, smoke, drink, gamble, have toys, etc... Its not how much you make but how much YOU KEEP !!

I'm also not rich, but I agree that money isn't everything. Yes it's important in order to have a roof over your head, food on your table and clothes on your back. But beyond that it loses its importance.
What makes life worth living are friends, family, and love. Not money.

Most rich people at one time were broke and found a way to better themselves. One can keep buying stuff at the mall and never get rich or one can learn how to invest and better themselves. My net worth when i was born was zero just like yours was.Now you either got the guts necessary too step up and go for it or you don't,quit blaming everyone else for your financial hardship you did it to yourself.

Absolutely right on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They'd soon change their tune if they had to work for the wages they pay their employees. Lump these guys in with the politicians who don't think it's necessary to raise the min wage. They are so out of touch with the common working class, it's pathetic! Not only do they have a good wage, for lets face it, doing not much more than attending social events, they have a better health care policy than YOU'LL ever see!!!!!!! p.s. I know more working poor than wealthy or even middle class, which I don't believe exsists anymore!

I'm not financially well off. I have serious Heart Disease. Money isn't everything. It can't help me.
I will admit that some people use that line to show how "cool" they are. To those people I say......... remember when things were hard for you!
