I have an idea for a Christmas present for my newborn nephew, but I am not sure how to execute it. I'd like to start his investment porfolio by buying him a single share of stock. (I'm a student, so I can't afford much.) I would like to present this share of stock as an actual certificate in a frame.

Do they still issue stock certificates? I do have a Datek (or Amertrade or whatever now) account, but it has been dormant for some time. Would I use them to procure the certificate?

Thanks!

Here's my question/conern:
I just got hired into a finance firm, and I work in a CUBICLE for about 8 to 10 hours each day. Sitting about 7 feet behind me is a very large and NOISY printer that has an internal fan running all day inside of it. I try to ignore it, but, it's not easy. I asked my manager if the printer can be moved to another location. She said no, but did offer me the option to switch MY location. So, naturally, I did. The new cubicle wasn't without IT'S fair share of problems. The A/C made the spot very chilly, and, since it is away from the printer, you can now clearly hear the office's fluxtuating A/C system- sounds like "brrrrrrr, ::pause::, brrrrrrr, ::pause, brrrrr..." So, now I have a dilemma. Stay with the Printer, or move to icy-annoying land. I am afraid that if I move, I will find the new spot as WORSE, and then the OLD spot (next to the printer) will be taken up by someone else. SUGGESTIONS PLZ

I am working on a project for a company on whether or not to outsource the work to China. We want to keep all employees but outsourcing our work seems so easy and so cheap. Is there anything the city could do to help us out since we are very influential in the city? What alternatives do we have if we want to keep our employees but are currently losing profits? What all is bad about outsourcing?

Thanks

I have a question, I will certify and get my bartending license on Thursday, but what is the typical pay of a bartender? I heard that you will make more money working at a hotel, is this true? I would like a estimate per week, or even per month but not per year. Thanks

I have entered in some sweepstakes....but don't know for sure exactly which one this one is? I need to know where it's from before I send the money out.

I am trying to convince a very good friend to not buy a house. She lives in Kansas City Missouri. She can barely make the rent payments every month and houses are very expensive here but she is naive and believes she can do it. I am trying to find information to show her exactly how much everything costs and try to make the point that it is a bad idea. So where can I find all the information? I hope all this makes sense.

Thank you everyone for answering my question. I think that it was coming off wrong. I'm not saying that I'm best and everyone knows it. I just meant that I have a lot of experience, a lot of skill and deliver extremely good work. I do high profile work, but I myself am not high profile in the industry. My work is better known than I am. My issue is that every company around me has shut doors and companies in New York don't want to let you work from a satellite location... my question is: Does anyone know of a specific company that would be interested in this type of work arrangement?

I am wanting to start selling low cost items on EBAY. Due to the fees that I will need to pay to EBAY and Paypal, whats the lowest price that i should ask for something and still be able to make money? It seems to me that some people sell stuff and actually lose money after they pay all the fees.
