1st of all, calm down. I think this is very unfortunate for someone to go thru especially with kids. I'm sure that you have done this already, but get on careerbuilder.com or monster.com, your local newspaper website and look for jobs like crazy...
If you don't own a computer or the internet, your local library is great. If your children are school-aged, then go while they are at school, compose and revise your resume and cover letter. If they are too small, then have them read books in the children's area while you browse the job posts. Post them at these websites, go to a local staffing agency and get help. In the meantime, ask a trustworthy family member to help with this matter, if you can't get help from somewhere else. I know u don't want to, but u have to do it 4 your kids. It's time to work overtime to get work. You can do this and also, if you believe in God, it's time pray my sista..God Bless and my prayers are certainly with you...

I have to admit that the advice that has been given to you is heart felt. I lost my job Oct 17 and well I was a nervous wreck. I started flying resumes on Monster, Career builder, Yahoo hot jobs. These are valuable services! Long time ago you had to look in the paper and then have to drive to put in an application. This was hard and well would rake your nerves. With the new way an employer will not call you back unless they had an interest. So at least when you go for a job interview you have a good chance. I also recommend to read the advice that these website have, like how to write your resume, how to interview, etc. I got a job in less than a month. Also on these sites, they put fresh job openings after midnight. I hate that you are going through such a tough time. But just follow the advice given to you by these wonderful people and it will work out. I will pray for you. I know this may sound weird, but prayer does work. I prayed everyday( I pray everyday, regardless of my situation). I did find a job. Good luck

Like he said SALVATION ARMY, CHURCHES may help you. If not rty to get a loan. I know that this is a little sleazy but you could go to a battered women's shelter and tell them that you took your kids out of their home, and you are fleeing from a very abusive boyfriend that is emotionally and a lot of the time physically abusive. I know it isn't christian to lie but I don't want to know that your kids are suffering. It will be temporary but they will help you get on your feet. If they say that they want to see marks or proof, say that he hits you in the back of the head and jerks you around alot. That's what I had to do to get away from my boyfriend.

try some local churches, salvation army, etc....
I would think that there would be some type of State Assistant that you could get, especially if you have children.
Good Luck
