I have always wanted to write, and I'm wondering what viable area I should start pursuing, so that eventually I can earn a living doing it?

I'm 44, and SO frustrated that I hate every job I get. I don't like clerical, though that's what I'm trained to do. I'm discouraged by the job boards and help wanteds. I make $12/hr part time, but the only jobs I find for a non-college grad pay far less than that. Any ideas? I have two kids, get no child support after a 17-year marriage ended. I want to get a house, and move forward, but can't get past the job prospects. Owned a business for 17 yrs, have strong clerical skills. I don't know. I just feel very alone, and wish I could talk to someone who could guide me. Thanks for listening. Not trying to whine. Just letting off some steam.

I work for a chain store, and not too long ago, the general manager of a franchise in another state was shopping at our store. He was looking around rather disapprovingly, and when I asked him what he thought of our store, he grumbled that it wasn't exactly like all the other franchises in the chain and he complained about how certain things were done differently in our store than in his. First of all, he's not the CEO of the company. He's just a general manager of one of many franchises. Why should he give a rat's a*s if our store isn't like all the others? Also, I don't get why some corporate managers and employees want to suppress individuality and become drones and clones. A coworker of mine was recently denied a raise, and the general manager of our franchise told him that it was because he was too much of an individualist and not a team player. Actually, since I know so much about my boss, I think that it was really because my coworker doesn't kiss butt. What's up with all this?

I want to start flipping houses, yesterday! I've read up on how many people started and it seems that they begin with money they had saved or profit made from selling their own home. Well, I can't sell my own home for another 4 years. I do have some savings but if I deplete my savings, I won't have money to fall back on to make mortgage payments while I am waiting for the house to sell. Therefore, my only other alternative (that I can think of) is to get a loan from the bank to buy a property. My concern is, what are the chances of making a profit from the sale, after I have paid the bank their money back with interest? Has anyone started out in the business like that and found it successful? Any other suggestions?

I brought a House in Bow (east London) two years ago. Since the olympic announcement it has increased in value by approx £50K. I am now wondering what is the best thing to do. Me and my wife are moving to Australia but want to keep a property in England. Should I keep the Bow property for further gains? Should I sell and buy a cheaper property in the UK and use the profit to buy in Aus? or should I just buy a bigger uk property with the profit and hope future rental will cover the mortgage? Hope this makes sense.

I didn't mention anything about my termination on the application, but when I took the assessment online I was asked whether I was fired because of performance and the # of times. I'm starting to wonder if this might be one of the reasons I did not get interviewed, at least, from the company.

I'm feeling like I made a mistake for being honest after receiving an email from the company, thanking me for applying and that their hiring process is highly competitive...etc...I was not interviewed at all or given a chance to be interviewed.

I have made a complaint to Human Resources about my manager who has been making my life 'hell' for two years! It has been 6 months since I made the complaint and nothing really has come of it! Last week my manager changed my day off without consulting me and I objected to this. She has now reported me for 'inappropriate behaviour' and now face disciplinary action. Surely I have a right to stand up for myself without the threat of facing the sack. I wasn't rude and wasn't threatening at all! It took only 3days for me to face disciplinary action but my complaint about her has taken 6 months!!! How come and what can I do??

Jack Lekad is a very successful businessman. He started out as a stall holder in a street market and his business has grown rapidly.

He buys imitation designer-wear at very low prices from abroad and retails it. He has several sources. As there is no middleman he can sell at very competitive prices. Hence his success

As a result of this success he has now acquired three shops in London. He employs a manger and two assistants at each shop.

His accountant has advised that he needs a computer system to help him to run the business and he has suggested that Jack should invest about £10,000 to £12,000.

Jack knows that you are studying system analysis and are short of “readies” so he offers you the opportunity to conduct a feasibility study.
