I want a unique name that sets my business apart from others, but I don't want it to be corny. I will be pet sitting in the pets home and want to suggest a more upscale type of care.

So he managed to win at less than 50% odds.

I assume that in selling his USA home (or some other means?) he hopefully established no residency? or residency where there is no state or town income tax so its just federal (unless he became a canadian or something). We know that for >$5000 it would be submitted to the IRS.

So he A) spent 100k won 200k taxed on 200k B) bet 100k won 200k taxed on difference of 100k or C) bet 100k won 200k taxed on 200k and got a percentage itemized deduction on 100k loss?

If he had in addition earned $40k working that year he is in a high tax bracket. What was his net worth after taxes?

I have a coordinator working for me as an hourly employee, but since we have more than enough work for all of us, I constantly find I'm being forced to manage her overtime hours. Is there anything stopping me from making her a salaried employee to avoid this constant monitoring? What other factors should I consider before making this change?

I have 2 degrees and a college diploma. I have worked in many different jobs and have a lot of experience that varies. I know that I am an underacheiver when it comes to employment. In my last job I had more education than anyone in my position. I need tips and tricks because I know that is what makes it work. I want to find resumes on the net and just use them as a guidline for my own. Its getting to the point where it is all about the money -- well -- to a point it is. I am still not going to through all this away for a factory job.

I'm 27 years old and a college graduate with a B.A. in Art History.
I've been working in the art world for 4 years now, but I don't know if it's something I want to keep doing. I feel like I should go back to school to get a Master's degree, but I don't know what field I'd like to pursue.
I've thought of pursuing a further degree in art, and changing careers altogether to study psychology or business.
As you can see, I'm really confused about my calling in life.
How can I decide what field is right for me? I really need some guidance with this. Thanks!

My wife and I had both of our credit ratings lowered due to medical bills. We allowed a wage garnishment to go through on her wages in order to get them paid off. I am retired and recieve Social Security disability. We have are current on our mortgage payments, we have no credit cards, and no other loan payments. We have been advised to acquire a loan or a credit card to help raise our credit ratings. We now need a car loan and like credit card offers we recieve almost daily, we have also recieved an offer for auto financing which states we are preapproved. My question is how preapproved are you in these offers. They state that the preapproval is based on our credit information.

We are refering to USA citizens residing in the USA and in good standing with the U.S. court system during the time of the early thirtys. You see all these ads for gold for sale to prepare for hard times but what is to prevent this from happening again. People that had "hoarded" (saved) gold were called "traders with the enemy" by the U.S. government at that time. Also, they were threatened by the government to have their names publicly printed as such as an additional incentive to relenquish any gold holdings.

I think times are changing fast-CEO of walmart, Kellog are hispanic just to name a few-I understand that corporate America is still primarily white, but i seen so many changes I think tht the idea of White America is becoming a memory. I think we will see a non white president within the next 50 yrs as well. I am not saying this is a bad thing by the way-just taking notice of changes and am wondering what the rest of you think

Lazy jerks, why waste someone's time in writing a cover letter, adjusting resume and such just so they can write you back and say "The position has been filled." Why can't they just delete the ad?

I work for Allstate, but I have to make a decision. Should a take lower rates than what I'm paying now for my Renter's Ins. Or should I keep the rates I have and file a claim cause someone kicked in my door and broke my window. I know I should know this cause I've been working here since 97, but I can't decide. Plus my agent is telling me that the door and window aren't covered on a liability only policy on Renter's. So, if that's the case, I should take the lower rate. But if I can get the claims people to fix my door, and I won't have to pay outta pocket, then maybe I should? I wouldn't be able to file a claim on the new policy with lower rates cause the incident happened last week.
