A mate of mine is panicking because he's just got a job as a trainee accountant, and they want to put him on the course(s) to become chartered a little down the line.

Now, this wouldn't be a problem normally, but he wasn't exactly truthful about the grades he got at A Level when applying for the job. The funny thing is, he says the company he applied to work at weren't actually too bothered about the grades, as long as they were passes in the right subjects and he gave a good interview, which he clearly did.

My question is this, will the companies which run the qualifications for accountancy require him to submit proof of his A Level grades (as there is a minimum requirement) or will they not bother as he's going through a company and not applying direct?

Any help would be appreciated as I haven't got a clue about this sort of stuff.

I may already be paying some fees to the credit card company or interest for which I am not really getting any tax break. So if the credit card gives me some rewards, or cash back...its just like they are giving me discount on money I am already paying them. It shouldn't be thought of as extra income on which I need to pay state and federal taxes.

I have been temping with a company for 6 months. I had hoped to be hired on but it didn't look promising because of no open positions in my field. I recently applied to another company - a VERY good one and got an interview. I am waiting to hear back from them. However, on Friday the company I am temping for - also a good one but it has no room for advancement in my field beyond what I would get hired into - offered me a job. I am in negotiations with them right now and they will probably want an answer from me on Monday. But I haven't heard back from this other company yet - and I think I have a shot but really who knows. Would it be wrong for me to accept the position at my current company and then quit if the other company offers me the job I REALLY want? I like both places but the other company is better for my field, though I feel a loyalty to where I am now and don't want to make them mad but I really need to look out for myself. Please help!

Seems everywhere we go, people offer to help you locate investors, but not without charging outlandish fees, and sometimes getting bogus or mis-interpreted information. Is there a chance for us? We'd really like to meet honest investors somehow, not through some pay-through-the-nose website, or some ritzy convention. Thank you.

I work at a place that is an hour away from home. I have applied for a job that is about 20 min away from home, simply for the travel reason.
Here's my question: How do I schedule going to an interview? I work m-f 8:30-5:30. I can't imagine the business will want to see me at night, or on a Saturday. Is it necessary for me to take a personal day? Is this deceiving to my personal employer? I can't do it on my lunch break because my current job is at least 40min from the one I am applying for. I would ask the new place to be flexible, but I want to appear flexible, so they want to hire me.
