Each week all I [and my coworkers] receive from our boss is a plain company check. I signed a W2 and taxes are being taken out, but he does not give us pay stubs showing hours, amount of taxes, hourly wage, etc. I feel uncomfortable not having anything to keep for my records, and it just doesn't seem right that all he gives us is a check with our weekly amount writtin in. Does this sound fishy to anyone else?

I'm aware that creditors can place lawsuits for not paying them, they can also garnish paychecks in an attempt to recover the debt.
But can the creditors seize homes or cars that have been fully paid in an attempt to collect debt?
I live in Florida, anyhow, how frequent are these cases? Does anyone know someone who it's happened to personally.

I owned an apartment in California. I believe statue of limitation is two years here. I understand lawyers won't touch it, but can a person still file a suit in small claims court? Or will they look at the date of incidence and throw it out?

I don't want to register the company because I won't make enough money to pay the taxes anyway. I just want to do something seasonal and make a little money, and I don't want check made out to my real name for security reasons. If I have the customers make out the check to the company name that I have chosen, will I be able to cash the checks/money orders? Thanks for your help.

Everytime I come up with something new for my small business and start to promote with it I'll see my competitors using the same ideas a couple of months later. How can I let my clients know I was the one who originated all of the great ads, layouts and catch phrases? Also, how can I stop my competition from stealing from me? I already made my website generic (which I really didn't want to) and I try to pre-qualify my clients, but for some reason the competition still ends up using my work. I don't have anyone working with me so it's not someone within my work environment.
