Assume that this is for career development, personal goal, and a future position in the academe upon retirement from the corporate world. I was thinking my field of research would focus on the impact on shareholder value of portfolio management of conglomerates. What do you think about the dissertation topic?

I am getting married on Saturday (12th of Aug.)
I also have a two year old son.
I make 27,000/yr before taxes
My fiancee makes 16,000/yr before taxes
We live together
We do not own a house (we rent)

So. Should I claim 6, get 90% of my paycheck, and put like $300/month into a high-gain savings account, or should I claim 1, and get a bigger return?

And how many should my fiancee claim?

At work, I am absolutely terrible at ending a phone call. I either cut the person off too quickly with a 'bye' and hang the phone up, or there is an awkward silence as I'm waiting for them to begin the call-ending, and vice-versa.

If ending a phone call is like a dance, I think I am inclined to step on the feet of the other caller.

i want to find a career in vet medicine that i can really, really enjoy. i've worked with a lot of clinical vets, but most of them were real jerks and penny-pinchers. i want a job that i can wake up and be excited to go to work for, b/c i love animals, but apparently loving animals isn't enough to make you love your job. at least that's what the vets i've worked for have shown me.

I posted a question last week that I recieved very good responses on. The problem now is my mom went to a Bankruptcy Lawyer to get information on filing bankruptcy. I asked the lawyer when I was there about my Capitol One credit card bill for $3000+ she claims there is no statue of limitations on sueing and garnishing wages. Especially when companies buy your debt from them. They can try and take you to court at anytime. Is this actually true??? Also she says that even though I'm paying money on certain debts if its not what the debtor's want from you they can still garnish your wages for more. I'm major confused. Here was my origional question....

I'm renovating my bar and turning it into a dance club. I want to have foam partys but I'm concerned about what I need to do as far as floor construction, drainage, barriers, electrical cords, safety, and clean up. If anyone has experience using or installing these machines, please let me know. Thanks!
