i want to find a career in vet medicine that i can really, really enjoy. i've worked with a lot of clinical vets, but most of them were real jerks and penny-pinchers. i want a job that i can wake up and be excited to go to work for, b/c i love animals, but apparently loving animals isn't enough to make you love your job. at least that's what the vets i've worked for have shown me.

Our local vet is a sweet guy and he really loves the job. It's not where he makes his money tho, so maybe that's the difference. I know many vets say they love the animals but hate the owners for doing such stupid stuff like getting high energy dogs in a small apartment. Try and avoid the owners. Maybe you could concentrate on being a surgical assistant or work with lab animals or something.

If your really serious then look into Australia. They love their animals there. Bet vets fetch a pretty penny mate.

then don't be a vet. Be a zookeeper or a trainer or a dog groomer!
