Unless you're from Iran or North Korea there should be no problem. I use Ameritrade & so far they've been excellent. The only pointer is to make sure you ask for all the right tax forms, otherwise they have to withold some dividend payments.

While there are some great companies in the US to invest in, many other countries may have other better investments that are less known about and therefore can be bought for bargain prices. Many other countries have faster growing economies than the US as well.

Of course you can invest...ever heard of foreign investors? Hell, many large companies and firms abroad invest within the US Stock Market.
