This is a home study course in digital photography and appears to be very thorough. I understand they have been around for along time. I just would like to know if anyone has had experience with them, and if it would be worth it for me to enroll?

I want to print some fairly large prints (about 12x18) and display them in my home. I would like to know of a good place to get the frames without breaking the bank. I would like a basic black wood frame with white matting of a few inches or more for a print of this size. Sort of a basic gallery style. Any suggestions where to buy?

I see lenses that are 24mm and are calling themselves wide angle yet there are 18mm that is not considered wide angle (18mm-70mm D70 kit lens). Is the definition of a wide angle just based on the focal size or is it also based on the convexity of the front glass?
I understand about crop factors but some of the photos I see shot with a D70 and a 18mm wide angle look like they were shot wide and others don't.

I am leaving for Mexico tomorrow and i am going to Logan airport. I was just wondering if putting my black and white 35 mm film through the x-ray machine will effect my film? Or what if i put it in my pocket when i walk through the metal detector? will the detector go off? or can that even hurt my film?

You think there'll be one in universities? If so, how can I book a room? Who do I contact? If it costs money, approx. how much is it? (Don't say it "depends" it doesn't help at all....). If there are lightings that we need for the white background, do we have to get professionals to set them up or something? How much does that cost as well? Thanks

Hi - I am thinking of starting a website that would be for photographers/artists who like to use compact/point and shoot type of cameras for thier work or art-

users could create their own profile and post their own works and view other members content as well-

there would also be forums where people could talk and share tips and advice with each other-

Photographers of all levels would be welcome but - only photos taken with compact cameras would be allowed-

Is this a stupid idea ? - I think a site like this would be sort of fun and it is also the kind of site that I would go to myself if someone else had it-

thanks-

I have so many it's ridiculous. I have over 6 albums full of pictures that I've taken of her since she was born. She's only 2! Not to mention all the professional portriats of her. I don't know what to do with them. By over 6 albums full I mean have 6 albums full and so many more they don't fit in the albums. I feel ridiculous buying more and more albums because I need to buy so many. What should I do? And what about her portriats, I have so many on my walls already she covers my entire home and I'm having a boy in a few weeks. What do you reccomend that I do?

I am wanting to get my mom a nice camera for her bird watching hobby. I am not too sure what to get, and I don't have a lot of money.

So if anyone has suggestions on what is a good affordable camera for bird watching, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

feeling just now, that I could lose 4 years worth of memories. I started saving on disc for the first couple years, but I got way behind.

I am interested in a site that has free UNLIMITED storage, as I said, I have alot to store. Then I would like to be able to order prints from them OR download some back to my computer and print myself. Of course quality prints is a priority as well.

Thanks for the help, I need to do this today, and I don't want to trust a company without a personal reference. ; )

I hate the new C41 black and white film, but the real B&W stuff is getting harder and harder to find. It seems that when I have it developed, the pictures have a green or purple tint to them. Obviously they're using color paper, which is the whole point of C41 B&W (so that it can be processed anywhere). But I'm trying to find a lab that cares enough about quality to have their equipment calibrated properly to prevent this. I like black and white prints. I don't like black and purple prints. Nobody does.

I'm still using film occasionally because my 35mm SLR takes better photos than my point-and-shoot digital, and I can't afford a digital SLR right now.
