My son was recently accepted to a modeling agency. They want him to take professional pictures, but they say I have to pay $300 for his head shots and etc. The real question i want to ask is do I really have to pay for them. Do you think that this may be a scam. What should I do? They dont guarantee he will get a job, just that his face and bio will be on a database for potential employers to see.

I have a gossen digipro-f light meter that has always given spot on readings. However, when I started using it with my new Nikon d80, the readings are off. I have the iso set to 100 on both pieces of equipment, so I can't think of what could be causing the problem. Any ideas?

I was wondering if it is possible to enlarge a photo someome took with a polaroid camera many years ago? I'm making a very special pictureframe for my husband who's just getting back from Iraq, and i know this photo means the world to him, and i wanna do this for him as a small welcome home gesture., So i would work really hard and spend good money if anyone could just tell me how to get an elargement?
Thanks.

I'm interested in learning some basics about telephoto camera lenses. I was expexting to see the magnification described as 2x, 3x etc., but instead I saw an ad that said "Magnification: (65 to 600mm)", I don't know what that means.

I am thinking about buying a digital camera that also does movies, and a lens for photographing wildlife. I would like to do extreme closeups from 50-100 feet away. After researching, I would like to take a chance on ebay and get the most zoom for the buck. General 'newbie' tips appreciated.

I have been taking photography classes at a community college for a year, and I fell in love with it. Our college just created requirements for a degree, which would include taking a lot of photography classes, as well as some gen eds.

I would like to take these classes, but I'm not a big fan of gen eds, and I also might have a bit of financial issues.

My girlfriend is really interested in photography--she's always taking pictures when we go on road trips, but she doesn't necessarily have the technical eye or know-how when it comes to knowing what makes a well-composed shot or, for that matter, what makes a good subject. Does anyone recommend a book that a starting photographer HAS to read to get started and get a good boost on taking good pictures? (if it matters, she's currently shooting with a Konica-Minolta Dimage Z6)

I'm looking for a site that offers as many of the following as possible, in order of their importance:

1. Excellent photo printing.
2. Unlimited Storage Space
3. Easy editing of photos
4. Easy to upload photos
5. Easy to share, perhaps with it's own web address I can send to people.
6. Fast access to thumbnails of my photos.

What do you recommend and why?

Green screen problem

I was watching a low budget TV station. I think they did not implement the green screen set up well. I see green shadow over the lady news anchor hair and when they have some kind of talk show you can see green color on the lower part of the screen. Also you can see a green reflection on the anchor desk.

Pease give me some idea and will tell them

I have an Asahi Pentax K1000 SLR. The matte focusing screen is scratched/smudged inside of my camera (above the mirror). Will that affect/come out on my pictures? And if so, where can I go to get it repaired? Thanks!

Any suggestions as to what type of settings I should be using on my Digital Rebel XT? I'm trying to venture away from the automatic settings and I don't want to be experimenting on the day of the pictures and risk loosing light since we'll be shooting close to sunset.

They were the first pictures of motion picture photography published in a printed form. I believe they were one color black and white in a series of strips of single frames showing the animation as the frames were shown in there sequence as they were captured.
