I have an Asahi Pentax K1000 SLR. The matte focusing screen is scratched/smudged inside of my camera (above the mirror). Will that affect/come out on my pictures? And if so, where can I go to get it repaired? Thanks!

It will NOT affect your photos and the below wikipedia diagram will explain why. The matte screen (5) is part of the viewfinding system, which is shut out from the image capturing system during the exposure when the mirror (2) flips up. The viewfinder is for previewing only. If your mirror, matte, prism, and eyepiece are damaged, they will not affect your photo...it will only make composing a bit difficult.

No it will not impact your pictures. It is just an annoyance to you the photographer. You should take the camera to a place that is a factory-authorized repair place for its brand of camera.

Blank? As in completely clear? Its overexposed. Blank? As in almost black looking? Its underexposed. Knowing the make and model of your camera would help.

The light from your subject goes directly thru the lens to the film plane. It won't effect anything but it is annoying.
