This is a photo of my Grandmother's rose, otherwise I wouldn't bother trying to save it.
I've fiddled with it, but it still falls short. Any further suggestions on how I could save it ?

Besides www.adobe.com, please refer sites where I can get on-line training on Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.

Please endorse the simple ones - I am a newbie. Thanks.

Here's a demo... Not a great subject, but it's what I had on the card when I decided to do this. This is "post-processing" in the camera, but they offer an "Active D-Lighting" with similar settings to use during shooting.

So, what do you think will be the NEXT move by Nikon or Canon or Sony towards HDR in the camera???

Piano Man, I guess this qualifies as showing off the camera. :-)

Ok. My friend is planning to get a Headshot photo done and i was wondering that when the photographer takes the photo, do they take more than one or just one photo for us to leave with?

Sorry I asked this, but it's getting kind of slow around here. Well, what it is?

My favorite camera that I have ever had the pleasure of using was the Nikon F4s. My next choice would be the Nikon D70s. Just Tried out the new Nikon D3 and the 14-24mm, yesterday, but the F4s remains my favorite. The Canon 5D comes close, too.

What's your favorite?

I take pictures only with myself because I'm not really comfortable posing around with people, so how can I take nice pics that dont really look like it's from myspace/ friendster or some networking site? I'm already experimenting with effects on Photoshop and lighting. I really want to improve the artistic quality of my photos. Any tips on positioning/ perspective or something better? I would really appreciate your answers. :)

I'm shadowing a wedding photographer for a while until I get comfortable to be on my own. I did my first wedding with him yesterday. I didn't get a chance to ask him all my questions and don't know when I'll talk to him next. In the meantime I'm doing research on lenses. I went the cheap route when I purchased my D50 last year and kept the 28-80 lens from my N65. I know I need a wider angle lense. My main concern at this point is a lense for low light. I have an SB-600 flash, but hate using it for "posed portraits." I get fine results with candid shots. When I do posed portraits I want more control. The photographer didn't always use his strobes. I asked him if it was because his lens was wider which allowed for slower shutter speed, he said "yes." Of course we didn't have time for a detailed lesson. I'm looking at the Sigma 10-20 and the Nikkor 18-200. Any other suggestions would be great. I'd like to get away with not having to use strobes or other lights if necessary.

I have been keen in photography for a bit of time now, and take my photos with a Sony DSC - W70, however I have come to the stage where i would like to upgrade to a Digital SLR. It would also be good to have experience with a digital SLR as I am planning on taking up course in it in the next year.

I have been doing my research, and have come up with a little list of cameras that seem good to me, but it would be great if I could get the opinions of people who know!

My photos are mostly of close ups or landscapes. What lenses would you recommend are the best for this?

At the moment, I don't have a price set, but around £350 - £400 for the camera with a basic lens would be ideal.

The cameras I have seen are:

Olympus E 410
Canon 350D
Sony A100
Pentax K100D Super

My only concern with the above is the the Pentax only 6 megapixels. I am not planning on printing too big, however if i wanted to print at around 8" X 10" would 6 mp be ok?

Thank-You very much for your help!

JP
