I can't imagine anyone being completely unphotogenic. Mostly it comes from people who don't like the way they look. As in, they don't think of themselves as very pretty.
I'm sure you're beautiful, though I don't see you, I feel it.
I think you might find some answer in finding someone who can teach you what colors and make up would look good with you, such as professional makeup cosmetologists. Then go to a professional photographer who can give you good lighting etc. I have seen people that I personally didn't find attractive look absolutely, gorgeous and magnificent.
This could help you gain some confidence for further pictures, doing it this way for one time, if that makes sense.
Hope that helps,
Cory

If you don't come off looking so great in a photograph, don't blame yourself - blame the photographer!
There's no such thing as a person who's not photogenic! But there are a lot of untalented, unimaginative, technically deficient so-called photographers out there who simply don't know what they're doing.
If you know anyone - preferably a friend - who is even marginally proficient with a camera, do this: go to a nice spot with them and ask them to take pictures of you while you're not "posing." You can walk, you can dance, you can just sit and stare off into the distance.
The objective is to capture images of you when you're not "being photographed."
Someone who loves you, and knows you, already knows those moments when you look your best, when there's a certain light in your eyes, or a certain way your hair falls around your face, or that silly grin you break into when you hear a good joke - whatever.
I'll bet you're beautiful! In fact, I know you are! (And I don't even know if you're male or female ... and it really doesn't matter!)
Let us see some of the pictures when you get them. The folks here are very nice. We'll do anything (almost) to help you out.
Hey, I'm an old guy. Next month I go on Medicare, 'cause I'll be 65! And I can promise you - in more than 40 years of photographing people - there's not an ugly one in the bunch!

I'm the same way. I look good in photos when I don't smile. I can't smile on demand. When people catch me smiling naturally I take a good picture. One thing I would work on though is smiling when someone wants to take a picture of you.

Keep looking. That's why models have their favorite shooters, and some photgraphers have to chase away work while others can't get any.

Hey, don't stress about it; it's life. I'm like that too. I look gorgeous in real life but in pictures i look so hideous and disfigured. The opposite with my friend; she looks horrible in real life but in pictures she's got the face of an angel.
It's just life; it doesn't matter. You probably have many other fabulous qualities that override your being unphotogenic
