could you give me some some tips for photography?

i like takin pics of just about anything. mostly outdoor things or of people. but..i just need some more tips about anything on how to take it etc

The best tip on photography I've ever heard is to make it your own.

Photography is a very technical craft, but it's also an incredibly personal expression of how you see the world. You can learn techniques from books and other people, but ultimately you are the one creating windows into other worlds. Explore and have fun!

I do forensic photography / legal video about 7-8 months out of the year. One very important tip is when looking through the viewfinder, look past your subject to make sure you don't have trees or poles coming out of heads, or a dog pooping in plain sight. Another thing is moving the camera even as little as an inch, can have a major effect on the final shot. (The dog pooping was a mistake I made. I shot a great photo of Shaver lake from the boat ramp. On the bottom is my dog doing the do-do.) Good luck in what you do, photography is a great and fun thing to do.

Have fun with your new talent!

Here are my tips:

1. Learn the theory of the golden rectangle; you don't have to stick to it but learning formal principles of arrangement can really help you think as you frame:

Also Japanese flower arranging helps train the eye,

2. Practice composing stunning images within themes or limitations that stretch your creative side. Example: just black and white, just photos of driveways, just photos of old people, just photos of natural bright color but abstract etc. And then do a lot of one.

3. Get into the habit of carefully critiquing your OWN work. In other words, get a lot of your prints, contact sheets, or make cheap B/W printouts from the puter ...... line all your pics up and study, study, study. Start to make mental notes of what YOU like.

4. Take a simple class. Local community colleges are usually okay and not expensive.

Okay well, I also love photography, and I find that with photography, simple is better. When you take a photo, you want something simple that makes a bold statement. Not something that people have to think about, but rather something that a person can look at and be able to immediately identify with.

Try different color effects like black and white. Also, and what i feel is most important, try different angles, for example if its flowers, try putting the camera under them so it looks like they're being looked up on, you could also try setting the camera on the ground and taking straight shots of things, stuff like that. When it comes to people, don't have them pose, but try candid photos instead ((ones where they don't know your taking their picture, or don't expect it.
