Website for compact camera/point and shoot users/artists-?

Question

Hi - I am thinking of starting a website that would be for photographers/artists who like to use compact/point and shoot type of cameras for thier work or art-

users could create their own profile and post their own works and view other members content as well-

there would also be forums where people could talk and share tips and advice with each other-

Photographers of all levels would be welcome but - only photos taken with compact cameras would be allowed-

Is this a stupid idea ? - I think a site like this would be sort of fun and it is also the kind of site that I would go to myself if someone else had it-

I think it's a cool idea. I don't have a ton of money to buy expensive cameras so point and shoot are my type and I love art (mostly drawing is my thing, but photography would be if it weren't so expensive probly) and have taken (in my opinion) some rather nice pictures. I would definitely visit it. Lemme know when/if you do somethin like that.

I think it sounds like fun. You are probably going to get a lot of a lot of snapshots rather than art but it's an idea I've not seen before. Good luck with it.
