You think there'll be one in universities? If so, how can I book a room? Who do I contact? If it costs money, approx. how much is it? (Don't say it "depends" it doesn't help at all....). If there are lightings that we need for the white background, do we have to get professionals to set them up or something? How much does that cost as well? Thanks

I've seen stuff like that advertised on craigslist before. Do a search for studio rentals. You can also call up your local professional photography stores (not the chains, but the real guys) and ask if they know of any studios you can rent. Often they have lights there, but if you're not familiar with how to set up, they may charge you to help.

Good luck!

sure like they say you can set up a space in your garage, or living room. Maybe even rent a room at the local community center or library. For the white you can buy White Photo paper that will roll out to cover the wall and the floor. You can cut some off and tape it to the wall. For lighting you can look into renting lights and try to figure it out on your own. With Photo lights you will most likely need Pocket Wizards as well to set off the flashes. You could also try to use window light, in the middle of the day is best. If your subject can hold very still you might be able to use flood lights and lamps or whatever you find around the house. You'll have to watch your white balance if your using different light sources.

Also there are places to rent a studio, I do not know the cost, it varies widely. You can rent per hour, day or weekend. I know in Dallas You can rent space at Light Tec.

Well it depends. I say that because most every fashion photographer has a studio. (in the terms of business a studio is called overhead) more on that later. Most photographer\s will rent out their studio for an hourly fee. In Dallas, Light Tec Ph# (214)350-8990 has a white curved back drop in a room with lights available that they rent out as does Splash Light Studio's. I dont know if you live in the Dallas area but someone else answered your question and also mentioned Light Tec Hope this helps

Honestly I'd make a room like that on my own, in my garage. Wood and board are cheap and so is white paint ... it would be exactly what you want and if you used studio techniques, you wouldn't need a roof, just lighting

Listen to Jon B he knows what he's talking about. You can also purchase black and white tile. It's not that difficult.
