Any one have one, or have tried one??

Something like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50, aside from the auto features that they all seem to have, but also manual control of aperture, shutter, FOCUS, ZOOM, with a hotshoe for flash?? I think there are a couple of other brands that are similiar.

Any critiques or reviews??

Personally I'd have to pick Surrealism, the Renaissance, and Pop Art, although I do like a lot more, but they're the favourites!
You?

When you take photos with digital cameras at night, it may take 20-30 seconds (or more) to take a photo. I don't understand how you can shoot movies with darkly lit scenes if each shot (frame) takes longer to shoot. Why do the rules of photography not apply to movies if movies are based on photography? Thanks!!!

This Christmas, I plan to ask my parents for either one of these programs. After asking one of my talented designer/illustrator friends for her input, I was almost sure I'd ask for Photoshop with Illustrator, but after looking over her work using Painter, I began having second thoughts.

I know this depends heavily on what I want to actually use them for. I'm planning to get more into graphic design in the hopes of actually turning it into a career, yet I also want to start creating my own manga, so I need to know which program will be better suited for both those things.

When answering, please don't forget to consider the costs and the difficulty it takes to master both programs. I would like to know which one is more affordable, user-friendly, and worth all the hype and money. Also, please include whether or not I will need any additional things, such as tablets and whatnot, in order to enhance my experience or make mastering either program a lot easier.

Thanks.

Will Illustration die from the ever increasing acumulation of stock illustration? Mainly traditional, but also other forms of illustration, suffer, in my opinion, from clip art/internet stockpiling of an illustrations/photos of every possible event that are free, or libraries/achives of illustraion at advertizing companies. Is there any hope?

I'm painting a sideshow banner for someone on a 6ft x 4ft canvas and I need to know what kind of paint is best to get the old sideshow banner effect. Does anyone know what paint is typically used for sideshow banners? I know its opaque and very concentrated. HELP!

After using my Nikon FG which was made back at around 1982, I've come to love it's rangefinder. It makes focusing easy and accurate. Why is it I only see this system in old cameras now? Why don't modern SLR's and DSLR's have this incorperated in them? All we have to rely on now is AF or trying to accurately focus manually by viewing through the viewfinder.
