Okay, I am in a large dilemma and hope someone, anyone reads this quickly. I have a last minute class presentation to do. I have to talk about a hobby of mine for six minutes to the class and incorporate a visual aid that cannot be any type of powerpoint or computer related. I have decided to choose my hobby of digital photography. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to present it. The only help the professor was is giving us the guideline we must state what we are going to talk about, and then tell how it relates to you. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ELSE TO TALK ABOUT FOR 6 mins. Does anyone have any idea on what I should do or incorporate into the presentation. Please respond asap.

I've read that it can be useful in creating compositions for drawing and painting. Do you think I could teach myself with the software and books or videos from the library? Also, what other uses does Adobe Photoshop offer for the visual artist (painters, not photographers)?

I have Adobe Photoshop which is where my photos I've taken with the digital camera go when I connect the digital camera to the computer using a USB cord. I have made a photo in the JPEG format on paint and saved it but my resolution isn't correct. Please help me.

How do I make the photo into 320 by 240 pixels Image resolution easily and quickly?

I've read some comments from traditional studio photographers that claim photoshop manipulation is a cop out or not photography because it is artificial or phony looking. But in reality, you could argue all photography is 'artificial' and 'phony.' A photograph of a person is not a person. It's a visual representation of a person made by the mechanical means of a machine and medium (film stock). Most photographers use or used enlargers. If that's not 'artificial' what is? Besides that, traditionally photographers have manipulated film photographs with dodging, burning, solarizing, etc. And they also have an argument about digital photo manipulation not 'looking real'. Do traditional photographs 'look real'? They are 2-dimensional and made of paper, and lots are b&w. Nothing 'real' about that either. Isn't it really because we have accepted film photography as a convention? convention.

I was taught how to make this symbol by my father when i was younger. It was a sort of connection we had because it seems like a little maze type symbol and you have to be told how to draw it in order to really know how I suppose. If this doesn't have some horrid meaning I'd like to get a tattoo of it to show the bond my father and I used to have. If you have ever seen this symbol and know what it is or know where I can search to find it, that'd be very helpful. Thanks soo much.

PS. I've searched on Symbols.com and cant find it so dont suggest that please.

PPS. The symbol is my display image next to my name or you can view it here http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa87/saraeh_w/symbol.jpg

Thanks!!

I love photography but have no formal training. I have a manual Nikon and a digital D55 Nikon as well. I would like to learn the craft of manual photography to be able to apply it to the manual feature of my digital camera, as well as to be able to use my manual NIkon. I would like to learn on my own. Is there anyone who can point me to the right books? Or if you have a better suggestion I will appreciate it. Thanks.
