Theater & Acting - September 2007

I'm doing my first panto this year. Me and the mrs can get a few things together, but are struggling with getting a suitably posh enough outfit for the King.
Does anyone have a spare Kings outfit(??!!) lying around the place?
Idiot answers will get blanked, muted, reported....etc.

For our high school choir we are doing a musical this year. We haven't been told yet, but the directors, pianist, etc, are dropping hints like crazy. Can you give me ideas?

1. Title is three words long. The middle word is something like the, of, etc.

2. Kids would like it

3. Beautiful costumes

4. Needs a keyboard to play parts such as an organ.

5. Has gospel, blues, jazzy music, etc.

6. Not a very common one like Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, etc.

Any ideas are welcome, thanks for helping me crack the code!

I'm mrs putam and i was wounder any advice because my teacher said i look too young and it would be a streach for me to play her
it would even be hard for her being as old as she is

Schlager or full rapier blade?

I am having a sword custom made for my fiance to give him as a gift for our wedding. It will be a stage combat worthy weapon, but I am not sure which blade to go for. The schlager blade we have on another sword seemed too flexible and whippy, but maybe it wouldn't be as bad with a shorter blade made by a better craftsman.

My choice is a 3/4 etched hilt with the full rapier blade, or a full swept hilt rapier with schlager blade and no etchings. They are both beautiful in the sketches, I'm not sure which to go with and I need to decide asap so it can be made in time.

I'm 15 years old turning 16 next July (2008). I want to go into the acting business for a career, and i want to become an actor. Ive looked around a bit on the internet at different agencies and classes, but i really have no idea what im doing. I want to get some experience doing things with acting, whether it be acting in a commercial or something, or getting to know what its like so that if i do find a agency , ill know what im doing. I'll be auditioning for Aunt Eller for the school musical. I already have an accent down, but I was wondering what sort of clothes I should wear. I plan on buying some sort of thing from a thrift store, but I am in such an inspiration rut; I haven't any ideas.

Also, if I sprayed my hair with a colored spray for hair (grey), would I be able to wash it out in one night?

is there a site IN ENGLAND were you can put yourself up for acting work and were you can like post an audition video and photos of yourself?

even if its one where all they are looking for is extras i don't mind , you have to start at the back and make your way forward right ? .

And also it doesn't matter if you cant post videos .

Right now I am 15 years old, Just started my sophomore year in high school. Right now I plan on taking Drama in school for three years, I also am going to take acting classes/lesson.

In three years I am gonna try to move to L.A. and try to start a career in t.v. acting (I'm not like other kids who want to become a "famous star", I understand how hard it is to become a professional actor, and how only a small amount actually become a "star"; That's not my goal, I am gonna give it my all; Making sacrafices isn't a problem for me). At the moment, I don't know what college I want to attend, but I really don't want to think about that right now. I want to know more about acting, a lot more, right now I am hungry and will do anything.

My question is..... Besides Acting/drama classes what else can get me ready for the real world of acting in L.A.?

im 22 andi want to act so bad. i know i have talent..and everytime im around people i make them lol...lor..lom...loq all of those..then they say "you should really make a career out of this"...i say "i know right!"....everysince high school 9-12th grade i was in front of a camera...believe it or not..i was shy at first to be on camera..??!!?? i dont know why, but then i came to be one with the device...and gave it go!!...since then it was history. im overseas right now, but i dont know how to go about this, i was thinking about doing the "real world"..but that was when it was real...now its all acting...

thats what i want to do.!.i go online and look up open casting calls but i wouldnt know where to go...someone told me to just walk the streets of Atlanta and someone will pick me up......
ahh hmm yea....
and that looks pretty desperate..so im like ill even throw in a sign, hold it up and walk the streets!!!...it will look like im giving a benefit car wash for acting..

We are a small-ish high school in Iowa, and we need ideas to sell more tickets to our musical "Fiddler on the Roof." What can we do to get more people to come? (We already advertise with posters, on the radio, in the newspaper. Any better ideas? 10 points to best answer!)

I like acting. I want it to be a professional career of course. I dont know where to start to get my career going. First I'm going to get my teeth straightened to braces, and then I dont know what to do - They say tog et a back-up job if acting doesn't work out for me, so should I go to university straight away for IT? Find auditions across the UK, go to drama collage? Im confused, i need opinions please.
