How important are looks when breaking into showbiz?

If you can put on a spectacular performance and you aren't worried about making the top ten sexiest list then you're chances are quite good. Performance is what really matters... not the pretty face.

Very important, all casting is done by look first, then talent., but that does not mean only beauty is what they are looking for. Many famous stars were not handsome people. Jack Palance and Charles Bronson, Thelma Ritter and others were not pretty people, but interesting character types. So if you can develop an interesting look, that is as good or better than beauty. Much of it depends on what you want. If you like the character roles (sidekicks, butler etc) then looks aren't as important but if its the romantic lead then looks would come first then talent.

I haven't done anything professional but in my years of theater, I have always played character roles but thats also my personality and the roles I prefer.

i'm able to kinda relate. I dont understand you individually yet from what I hear. possibly you dont relize what your turnin into. I watch those exhibits for all time final year and my mom advised me the comparable issues appropriate to the exhibits and my approach fairly replaced. I grew to enhance into fairly short tempered and recommend. The exhibits could be having an impression on you. As for the hair and stuff, so what you wanna look good, i dont think of that's what makin you diverse. you would be fairly particularly and extremely advantageous on the comparable time. I dont think of your hated or undesirable you purely dont precisely have your priorities at as quickly as. try gazing somewhat some issues or attempt to maintain your self constantly doing some thing and if the comments proceed try ignoring them or try explaining your self to you mom.
