Schlager or full rapier blade?

I am having a sword custom made for my fiance to give him as a gift for our wedding. It will be a stage combat worthy weapon, but I am not sure which blade to go for. The schlager blade we have on another sword seemed too flexible and whippy, but maybe it wouldn't be as bad with a shorter blade made by a better craftsman.

My choice is a 3/4 etched hilt with the full rapier blade, or a full swept hilt rapier with schlager blade and no etchings. They are both beautiful in the sketches, I'm not sure which to go with and I need to decide asap so it can be made in time.

Thank you for all of your help.

Thank you TheatreDoc, I was leaning toward the full rapier blade as well. I have searched the internet, but just wasn't finding the information I was really looking for.

I wanted to give the sword maker a decision today so he could have time to work on it as soon as possible, but I just told him my concern about the schlager, so I'll wait and see what he says. But I'd still love to hear other opinions as well.

Thank you so much for answering!

I think full rapier. Try a web serch of Schlager and see what you discover. It seems to have difficulties.
