but is there any poiint, and if there is, what should i do, where should i go, and who would help with the lack of confidence?

For me my favorite actor could be the next Denzel but is still undervalued today. I'm talking about Eamonn Walker, he played "Kareem Said" in HBO's OZ. He even played Othello, and very good btw.
Another actor was one that is not alive but should have been better praised for his work was Raul Julia.

From what I've heard it's harder for an actor to play a comedic or a villain role but I've never seen these types of performances winning oscars. It always seems like it's the serious performances where the actor plays someone who's disabled, has some mental disorder or some historical figure who gets the oscar. I very rarely see comedic performances being praised and if they do they don't get nearly as much credit as serious performances. I still haven't seen Jim Carrey win an oscar. And Will Smith's best performance is considered to be the one in "The Pursuit of Happyness" rather than his other roles which were comedic. It seems like there's some underlying elitist attitude among the academy that comedy is just downright silly, immature and inferior. They seem to prefer performances that make them cry rather than laugh.

Born in 1934, I am a comedian who has risen to worldwide fame of late. Very creative, I am a film producer, script writer, a star of London’s West End musical theatre, an award-winning writer and also an acclaimed landscape artist.

Married four times, I am currently married to my fourth wife of 17 years, but only have 4 children to my previous marriages.

I am notorious in my home country for playing elaborate public pranks and am somewhat of an icon. I reached my height of fame thanks to my character acting skills and am most noted for one of my alter egos.

My famous alter ego has reached great heights and now has their own prime time talk show, making her somewhat of a “dame”.
I am not without controversy, but then again performing satire often raises a few eyebrows.

I'm a starting actor who wants to learn to speak better? Sometimes when I'm on camera my voice gets all caught up probably because I'm nervous. Any advice on how to speak clearer and louder so everyone can understand and hear me?

We sign up for audition times in groups of five. There are two days of auditions. I signed up for the first group on the first day. Was this a stupid move?

We have to analyze and perform a monologue for acting class. Here's the first passage of the monologue that is was assigned:

You know the sound of a bone breaking? It goes crack. Just crack. Like popping a piece of kindling over your knee. I’m not going to tell you where I came from because I barely remember. I’m not going to tell you where I am now because I try to pay a minimum of attention to it. Look at my cast. Everyone signed it. Even people I don’t know. I like this one best. It says “Have a nice day… Karen.” I don’t know any Karen. This one says, “Roses are red, violets are blue, for a good time call 589-4562.” And here. It’s a picture of a giraffe. But the giraffe doesn’t have spots. It’s striped, like a zebra.

I basically understand it, but it's hard to distinguish who this girl is talking to. Any ideas?

You see, I believe in myself, and I am not embarressed easily.. :) But serious, I always wanted to be an actress. I have the skill, because I know I can act. I was in John Robert Powers and they said I was a natural, modeling lol and acting. :) Yay. I am 13 years old and I really want to be an actress. I want to prove people wrong, that think I won't make it you know. But, you see, if I don't make it, I have many fall-backs. Being an nterior designer, or a Crimanal Psychiatrist. I would like to be a role-model for kids. But you see, I am not that pretty, so to speak. :) Check me out at myspace.com/saphartha. :) Am I really that ugly?? Please I would really need your help in advice and what-not. Or email me at neopetlover111222@yahoo.com..

Thanks so much,
Samantha

I have found that sometimes certain people that I don't even know at theatre auditions ask which song I am going to sing. I think it is very nosy due to the fact that it is often out of "checking out the competition" and sometimes trying to find out what songs are being used incase they want to steal the idea. It stresses me out and and I don't know what to say because I don't want to be rude - also, even saying "I don't want to talk about it" seems rude and obvious. Is there a good way out of this without having to answer the question?

okay, everytime I go to NYC I would always play a little game of finding a talent agent. Then maybe I could try to perform infront of them, right then and there and maybe I'll get discovered. I know a lot of famous kids who were discovered by agents when they were just walking in the streets. But how can I search for talent agents? Do they wear business clothes or something?

Okay, I'm 13 years old and my cousin who is the same age as me has a talent agency. She had to send in her resume, headshot, cover letter, etc. Now, I have no problem to send all those stuff to that agency, but maybe I could take a little short cut. I was wondering if I could ask my cousin's mom if she could introduce me to one of the agents who works there. Could that work?
