I'm 15 years old turning 16 next July (2008). I want to go into the acting business for a career, and i want to become an actor. Ive looked around a bit on the internet at different agencies and classes, but i really have no idea what im doing. I want to get some experience doing things with acting, whether it be acting in a commercial or something, or getting to know what its like so that if i do find a agency , ill know what im doing. Can anyone help me with places i can go or something? i live in toronto, so please dont make it far. thank you

Ok. You need to: 1. Get your parents' support for your selection of a career. 2. Continue in your school plays, 3. Get a mentor, 4. Do some reading, especially all the plays you can get your hands on, 5. find professional classes, 6. put together your resume and get a head sheet, 7. find a good summer theatre camp for next year, etc etc.

Click on my name and read my profile and contact me at my aol address if you have your parents' support and want my help. I mentor aspiring actors for free.

I would ask yourself why you want to be in the buisness. Do you want to be an actor because you love acting or do you want to be an actor because you want the fame and fortune that comes with being a successful Hollywood Actor. I have been in this buisness now for more then half my life and I can't imagine living any other way. However I would not wish this career path upon anyone. I would advise you to do local community theater in your town to figure out if this is something you really truly want to do. From there you can go on to do bigger shows and make a name for yourself while building up your resume. After that it will be easy to land an agent to try out commercial work. Remember that with an agent you shouldn't have to pay for anything right away. If they are truly interested in your talent then that enough will sell you.
