In a week and a half we are having auditions at my school for the musical Oklahoma. I am a soprano and I'm trying to decide what song I should chose for my audition. Any suggestions would be great!

I was thinking this the other day. Do you think we have something special that makes us different from others to be part of this art?

I'm really new to this so i would just like to know what happens, like when you get there will they give you lines to read while your waiting for your turn? Or will they just give it to you on the spot and you have to act it out the first time your reading the script? I'm soo nervous!! Please tell me what to do and some tips!! Thank you!

I bought some tickets for a comedy show, and they are in the "pit" as opposed to the "orchestra" section of the theater. What's the difference? When I look at a layout of the theater's seating chart theres no "pit" marked anywhere.

I recently finished high school, and was wondering if having a post secondary education in theatre is worth it. I know alot of people who don't have a degree in drama or theatre, but are still performing and they take some acting classes/courses on the side. Right now I'm entering university doing my BA in something completely different. My reasoning is that I'd want something solid to fall back on - just in case 4 years down the road and I realize that acting isn't as what I'd thought it would be. You don't need a degree to act, but you need one for a whole lot of other careers. I have a sneaking suspision however that my fate lies in a theatre and I'd have this eternal itch if I don't try it.
