A "Starring Actor" is an Actor or actress about whom the story is written.

A leading actor, leading actress, or simply lead, plays the role of the protagonist in a film or play. The word lead may also refer to the largest role in the piece and leading actor may refer to a person who typically plays such parts or an actor with a respected body of work. Some actors are typecast as leads, but most play the lead in some performances and supporting or character roles in others.Sometimes there is more than one significant leading role in a dramatic piece, and the actors are said to play co-leads; a large supporting role may be considered a secondary lead. Award nominations for acting often reflect such ambiguities. Thus, sometimes two actors in the same performance piece are nominated for Best Actor or Best Actress -- categories traditionally reserved for leads. For example, in 1935 Clark Gable, Charles Laughton and Franchot Tone were each nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for Mutiny on the Bounty. There can even be controversy over whether a particular performance should be nominated in the Best Actor/Actress or Best Supporting

A supporting actor performs roles in a play or movie other than that of protagonist. A female who performs these roles is usually referred to as a supporting actress. These roles range from bit parts to secondary leads. They are sometimes but not necessarily character roles. A supporting actor must also use restraint not to upstage the main actor/actress in the play/movie. In earlier times these were often ethnic stereotypes. The title is usually specific to the performance, that is, a person may be a supporting actor in one film and the leading actor in the next. An individual who typically plays supporting roles is considered a character actor. Supporting roles may be pivotal or vital to the story. In recognition of important nature of this work, the theatre and film industries give separate awards to the Best Supporting Actor and actress.

A "Featured Player" is an Actor or actress who is given prominence in cast.

A "Day Player" is a category that the Screen Actors Guild uses for an actor who is contracted to perform for a single day only, as opposed to a longer-term contract. The day player SAG scale rate is $737. "Day Player has nothing to do with how many lines the actor performs, or how many scenes he/she is in.

The real difference is in the size of the role and the pay for doing it. Day players are not extras and may have several lines and even more than one scene.

The lead is the most important actor/charactor in a movie. Starring includes the lead but also the supporting actors. Supporting actors are important too because they quite litterally "support" the lead. A day player is basically an extra with one or two lines and is usually only 1 scene. Hope I've helped you understand!

Porn stars enjoy security on the job, free and diligent STD testing, checks that actually clear the bank and a much warmer environment. Prostitutes are often robbed, raped, infected, infecting, beaten, unpaid and hated. Frankly I'll take the porn any day.
