If you were going to audition for a show on the WB, where would you go? Would you go to LA, or to Vancouver (where most of their shows are filmed). Also, how do you find out about the auditions?

Ok i am having a mini skit of the court scene of to kill a mockingbird by harper lee. I will be playing Mayella Ewell. I am a fairly decent actress i have been in drama for 3 years and i acted on all 3 middle school plays. However Mayella is from the south and we are being graded on our performance. I want to do a southern accent from alabama. I can almost get it right. Any tips for making ot sound more realistic?

What was Romeo and Juliet's predicament?

Come up with a better plan for these "star-crossed lovers." Can you think of a solution that would bring about a better ending to the play?

I have enjoyed creating makeup effects of the blood-and-gore variety for years now however I have never learned how to properly use a burn wheel. I am fairly proficient with a bruise wheel, nose and scar wax, etc. but that gap in my expertise, if you will, is bugging me. I do own a burn wheel but am unsure of the proper application and mixing of the colors. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am a middle school student and have a passion for acting. It my school, I am best known for my acting skills. I put my soul and my heart in it and I can never imgaine not being one when I grow up. My teachers say I don't need to practise really hard because I am natural at it. It is my life!
I really want to be one. But I don't have any support from my parents but I think I know someone who could help me..anyway, that is not the case here, all I want to know is, how can I be one?

So, I'm in the play Love By The Bolt by Feydeaux and my theatre arts teacher told the cast (which includes myself) to look up French Etiquette for the early 1800's. I've looked but all I can find is stuff about when you eat. But, anyways, something extra is that we are high society in the play. If that changes anything.

Yes, I know philosophically you don't need "anything" to create theatre, but realistically, without the technical aspects (by techinical, I mean lights, sound, sets, costumes, props . . .) there is no theatre. I've been told that theatre doesn't need any tech. At all. You can have naked actors in a grassy field. I ask, how many people have ever seen a completely tech-less show? I feel safe in saying no one.

I'm not coming down on actors, some of my best friends are actors. I just get a little tired of the "technical people are second class citizens" attitude I deal with with some actors in my business (I'm a lighting designer). An actor friend of mine decided one year that he was going to produce a tech-less production of a Greek play, he even asked me to be in it. "no sets, no lights, just acting in the park at night around a fire." I guess he forgot when he wanted us to provide our own costumes that that would be a technical aspect, along with the fire itself.

Thank you!

I'd like to find a monologue that somewhat fits the idea of the film I'm auditioning for. I'm auditioning for a sociopath's love interest, though obviously she doesn't know he's a sociopath. She has a unique view of how the world works, and how people interact/behave. She's eccentric, optimistic, friendly, and has a fun side to her. She is a firm believer that people shouldn't sweat the small things, and people should enjoy life for what it is.

So...Any ideas as to what films have a character that matches this description? Or even better...any monologue ideas?
****DO NOT SUGGEST MONOLOGUE SITES, I'VE ALREADY SEEN THEM. I WANT SOME SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT MONOLOGUE I SHOULD DO, NOT WHERE TO FIND THEM.

I am a funny person and I want to start doing stand up comedy. How do you go about writing stand up comedy? How do you put your stuff on paper so its not one of those had to be there jokes. Just about everybody I talk to says I am funny and think I should be a comedian. Do you know of anyway to pull jokes out of daily life and put them into a comedy skit? Know of any websites/things that will give me a better understanding on how to write comedy?
