Thats like asking "why do average people date average people, why dont they date famous people?".....Its mainly because of their social group...If u end up going to parties and socializing with other famous people...u might actually hit it off with them and start dating... Its not ur fault that they happened to be famous...its all who u hang out with.. I think there have been some stars that have dated average people..But still its who u roll w/ and also who ur friends roll w/..

It's legal incest.

Still, if one is an actor/actress, the notion of finding a 'soul mate' is almost self-destructive. There is an overriding need to stroke the ego.

And, then, just to make the point, marry an eighty-year-old millionaire. And pretend that you didn't know about the billions.

Actors/Actresses are not average people? Hmmmm. Don't you like to date people who have similar interests? I do! That's why my actor boyfriend and I (actress) have been living together for almost 10 years now. I have other actor friends who don't have mates who are performers - but very often they don't understand how important it is to act. Maybe that's why we stick together.

Hmm....do you really mean actors and actresses or the rich celebrities that only appear in the tabloids?

Try this one on for size. Think of every negative attitude you have about actors/actresses and the job they do for a living. Now, imagine that someone has those attitudes about, oh, your job. Now, stretch here a bit, imagine someone saying that to your face.

Anybody can act Anybody can teach
Acting is not real work Teaching is not real work
Actors are overpaid Teachers are overpaid
What makes them think What makes you think
they're so special you're so special

Why in the name of all that is holy would I want to date someone who has such contempt for me and my job?!!!?

That is one reason why actors dates actors....and Christians date Christians, and scientists date scientists...RESPECT for who they are and what they think.

However, this answer may be too real for those of you who like to bash actors.

If you want to bash actors, hit them where it hurts and stop paying their rent. Stop watching movies, television, dvds, reading tabliods and playing computer games (voice actors, don't forget them). I mean, exactly who do you think is providing the entertainment that you consume?

Wow..it's getting lonely up here on my soapbox...take care and think about it....

Partly because of the lifestyle. They work long hours and often meet their partners through their work. Some actors have very fragile egos and need somebody who understands them. They also have to spend a lot of time travelling around looking for work ortaking part time jobs - unless of course they are famous and working a lot. Not many "normal people" would understand if you had to practice kissing someone or simulate sex for a scene in a play - they would be jealous.

Maybe because average people can't really begin to understand how much of a normal person a celebrity is?

Out of the average dating crowd, how easy do you think it would be for a tabloid firm to "buy" their date.

and by that I mean, how much money would it take for their date to spill every bit of personal information about the celebrity to a news paper or magazine?

When people joke saying "OMG! the world is out to get you!" They ussually say that to someone they're accusing of being paranoid. The truth is, for a celebrity, this is the truth. People ARE out to get the, to get every part of their life they possibly can and sell it. Sell it in magazines. Sell it anyway they can.

They really are a clique, like in high school.

Not all feel this way, but, a large majority of actor's and actresses don't date regular people because they feel that their status is above normal people.

They think they are better than most everyone.

People tend to date people they are around and more likely to become acquainted with. Actors/actresses probably don't spend as much time around "average people".

I think because they both are going through the same experience and can relate to it. Also it helps their image.. and sometimes it doesn't but that still is publicity and getting their name out there. Most of the events that they go to they run into other people in the same field of work, money bracket and so on.
