Love

She lies in bed, only half asleep
She tries too hard to fake a snore
I know shes up as soon as I leave
Lies to tell and stories to weave

Why is it when love is right
You overcome even the fiercest fight
But when the love turns to black
There's messages from a guy named Jack

You swore that it wouldn't happen to you
But it went down, you had no clue
That sneaky witch was steppng out
Now she's gonna find out who's got the clout

You wait in dark to even the score
At 3 AM she sneaks in the door
You raise the gun and shake just a little
When you lookes at her face all that was left was spittle.

power

you think of power
I think of desperate men
homeless cold laughing

Lies

truth is hard to tell
when lies are all around you
new truth tomorrow

cats

possessive white cat
staring at a small brown rat
time for rat to die

heart

beating deep inside
just between the two of us
candle light shadows

Walking home late one night
A tall dark man gave me a fright

He held out his hand and gave me a smile
He made me want to run for miles and miles

"Don't be afraid" he said to me
"What happens is what's meant to be."

I took his hand and gave a start
Because his touch stopped my heart.

I slipped away and fell to the ground
Watching the world spin round and round.

And as a started to fade away
I heard a voice tell me to stay.

I opened my eyes and took a breath
I knew, that day, I nearly found Death.

((not one of my best, but I thought it was cute))

Has anyone ever heard of a poet named Egzooma? I don't know if I spelled it right but that's the way it's pronounced. He performs a very dark type of poetry.

Someday:

She stares at me with her soft blue eyes, her pale skin and flawless complection. When i stare back i feel so grotesque so repugnant, compared to her goddess like beauty that i want to run into the darckest cevasse in some forsaken mountain just so i wont hinder her beauty, so unsurpassed she is the fairest of any woman ever born her hair flows to her shoulders like a goddess', her voice like a sirens beckoning me into the mist...but alas she has been claimed, claimed by a rich man who cares for her as much as he cares for the ants crushed under his boots as he walks t'words her. The look she gives me with those cold pale blue eyes tgat reflect the light as a thousand dropplets of dew reflecting off the leaves of late gives me hope, hope that someday we will be together...someday.

This poem is about love, the author is deeply in love regardless of what happens

Pablo Neruda uses the metaphor “My heart moves from cold to fire” to describe his
Feelings. The author also uses foreshadowing to describe that he is thinking about death.

2)Sauni's poem, "Not in Her Storm," uses imagery and theme to further express the author's vision.
"Not in her storm have I ever felt alone--
Her storm ends, so I, may find my way home--
It's for me that she pushes away her own rain."

Should I Say Please?

I am scheduled to die by a firing squad.
Or to be hanged after the torture session.

My body will be drilled, suffocated, branded.
I will be raped and sodomized.

But for the present moment I am free to speak.
Even urged to talk.

Should I say please?

Im writing a poem on deception and it goes....

I can see with closed eyes
Through the window of deception
Your mouth is open
But I hear no words
Your expression is as fake as....
Closing my eyes
I journey to the window of your thoughts
The glass is cracked
My trust is shattered

The horrors deception brings
Your laughter
Your smile
Your voice
They all lead me to that break
When I used to talk to you
Light shined through the window
The glass was pure
Your words were true
All I wish is that I can go through that glass
What is there I cannot see?
What happened?

now as you can see one line is incomplete. your expression is as fake as... can u fill it in?

and please help! i hope you like this piece and please give me some feedback and that line is bothering me!

So I received a letter from Poetry.com and it says that their Selection Committee has certified my poem as a semi-finalist in the International Open Poetry Contest...and that it will automatically be entered into the final competition held in June 2007. Well what I wanted to know was whether anyone knew if this happens often or not....and/or....are they trying to trick me into buying the $45 book with my published poem in there? Is it rare/unique that I got in the semi-final? Or is it just something that happens to every poem entered? I want to feel special...but I'm a little scared to. I don't know if everything is how they say it. Like how I should be proud and that I have a special talent... =/ ? Please help me out if you know anything about Poetry.com

Just so no one thinks i'm dark and disturbed or anything like that this poem was written for a really important part in the book New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. It was written during the part were Edward left and Bella felt like she had an empty hole... Also in my last line it says "waiting for a NEW MOON to dawn" i chose the words new moon because of the name of the book and the reference in the book so here it is and help me edit it if you can

Empty

The empty hole
Residing in side me
has taken its toll
It's leaving me with nothing left to be
I can no longer feel
Wondering if I will ever heal
Watching my life pass me by
Hearing nothing but my cry
No reason to try
No reason to carry on
Just waiting for a new moon to dawn

There it is i know it really needs some editing i'm just not very good at that so please leave comments not matter how short or long they help

As soon as he spoke those three words
I didn't believe my ears
I never thought we’d feel alike
Looking with his hopeful eyes
He waited long for my reply
Standing there in front of me
With his marvelous faith filled grin
Here’s the best day of my life
I left my corner and hugged him
When at last I found my voice
I whispered in his perfect ear
“I love yoyos too”

i wrote it out when i was bored.....what do you think?

Does anyone know of any ongoing meetings or workshops for Haiku, in or around London (UK)?
Most of groups or associations, such as the British Haiku Society, are largely web based, with infrequent meetings. I will appreciate information on other sources of meetings, worshops, etc.. where to share with others, as well as for mutual feedback and inspiration.
