I don't believe that to be true. I don't believe with age comes wisdom by any means. I'm 21 and find it hard to believe that anyone who's older then me, automatically knows better or automatically has a better undertsanding about life. I've seen how a lot of people in their 30+ live and question that motto.
I think that wisdom in its self comes in many different forms. . . but what do I know. . .

So "with age comes wisdom?"

A young Jehovah's Witness has died just hours after giving birth to twins. She had signed a form refusing blood transfusions, and her family would not overrule her. Couldn't doctors have intervened?

this is a follow-up to my previous question in philiosophy. What to do believe is the criterion for personhood?
My previous question was besides the fact that you are a human being, what makes you a person?
the concept of personhood was implied in that question. so this time , i will make it explicit.

Tolerance
by John Leroy Maxwell
This is not a perfect World, we see things everyday..
That make us take a second look, or make us turn away..
The heart of man has turned to stone, and compassion
is not found.. We've taken Love and Friendship, and
beat them to the ground.. No longer do we hold our Hopes
and all our Dreams so dear.. At any given moment, we
will trade them in for fear.. Let's end this reign of violence,
and halt these evil designs.. We are all in this as one
Human Race, to that we must resign.. So please reach out,
so all of us, cease the malice and the pain.. And maybe
one day soon, we'll hear Sweet Music in the Rain..
So as you kneel and Pray to God for a better life for all..
Ask that Peace and Tolerance be placed visible on the Wall.

There is always something missing... and someone had told me that there is always one thing that changes your life somehow!

What was that for you? And when did it happen?

And I mean all those people here in the Philosophy section. Those who turn up to answer this questions are my friends and are on the same wavelength with me. But those who don't respond and cannot answer this question are afraid. And I remember their names who normally responded to questions on the philosophy of life
as I did with them before.

NO MUDSLINGING PLEASE!

I think this is part of reflective thinking at its best. I find this to be the most difficult question to tackle. For instance, I could understand when I am honest to some person in certain circumstances, but when I try to see if I honest myself, I am left with a need for reassurance. How would you answer this question? And how could you ensure that you are not deceiving yourself?

and i was wondering if you have any ideas. i am doing a research paper, and this is one of the topics i was given. the description says, "...investigating the ethical implications of killing and eating animals for food."

some things to think about:
is it possible to kill and eat animals in ethical fashion?
consider: manner in which animals are killed and how they have evolved over time
philosophy of ethics
economic concerns (cheap meat for those who cant afford other food)
evolution
depictions of carnivorism

im not asking for you to do my research paper, but it would help me a lot if you can point me in the right direction by giving me some articles or books that you know of that deals with this. thanks.

I think people are watching me just like the Truman Show. I think my parents are actors. I really do think the world is watching me. Because everytime I walk past people they just stare at me. Then people just smile and smirkat me, like its some big joke.

People know my real name. Tell me how do people know my real name?
Let me find out that my parents are just actors, and my sister is an actor.

Let me find out that this world is a joke, and everyone been watching me.

You people need to tell me the truth.

What are you doing right now?
