My role models were my dad and stepdad.
I looked at how they treated my mom, and do EVERY LAST FREAKING THING differently.
19 years and counting, first marriage.

Role models are a very important part of growing up. However, school gives you a basis, a framework to build upon and put all that knowledge into. Without the foundation, you wouldn't know what to do with the role model.

Most everything that is important in my life, I didn't learn in school.
There was the most wonderful home ec teacher who I really looked up to. She made me feel important.
Even now when I see her I ask her "how is my favorite teacher?"
