Indeed, Those who have the common good in Mind, eventually sour from the wolves in sheeps clothing that are using their identity, situation, propaganda, for gain. Society is vastly populated with people who monologue--Self. Just do a week long inspection/investigation regarding Sociological Patterns. If you are really monitoring these individuals, they have "self" written all over their pillowcase. They ponder and devise evil imaginations on their beds at night, how can I exploit this person, how can I take their jewels, etc. A long known relic -- the wailing wall -- is adorned with believers from all different walks, some jewish, some christian, a few converted muslims, etc. Now, consider how these peoples prayers, wailings, etc Are being exploited, through cameras, souveniours, etc. I am not necassarily saying that this is at the expense of selfishness, rather an illustration of carnal exploitations thriving and doing well in America. Jesus became enraged when he saw buying & selling going on in the Temples. He said, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves. I think that is the most selfish, to buy and sell off of the Christians, using them for motivation -- personal gain. God will tire from this, he IS listening (BOOM).

The behavioural theory would say that everyone is out for self. People's behaviour is driven by a need for postive reinforcement. Everyone does what they do for a reason(s) is the bottom line. EVERYONE is out for self.
The only difference is that people who do "good" things are turned on by good and socially acceptable behaviors while others get their kicks doing "bad" things.
A simple example would be that I am a volunteer with an amateur football team. The entire organization is made up of unpaid volunteers. Hoever we really do get paid but not in a monetary sense. So do we volunteer and don't get paid for it? No we do get paid. It's just not a monetary payment.

Usually kind and unselfish people are also very compassionate. They understand that the ego ridden and sociopathic types are usually motivated by fear.
The most evolved among the "more enlightened" never seem to get annoyed by the horror and stupidity visited upon the unfortunates who cross swords with the likes of, say, our present administration --psychopaths to the max.
I have a bit of trouble with what i perceive to be the "martyr" approach, but they do seem to be very wise individuals, after all. We'll see :))

They would if they did not understand the vapid, reptile-brained ignorance of the selfish.
In understanding it, they left it behind themselves - that's how they got to be "for the common good" in the first place. Sometimes it is a little tiresome, but keeping the focus on the goal never lets one be distracted for long.

we are only human, it happens all the time.
but we still feel that the important thing isn't those who are out for themselves, but all the rest. and we preserver regardless of whether or not anybody appreciates or notices..
after all it's all about the common good and not about fame or public aclaim.there are those who gives up and others who carry on regardless.
God bless,

No, because the common good includes those selfish people and you really have to love everyone in order to truly abandon greed.

You mean like how the mom of the family always has to do the cleaning and cooking but when someone else in the family is hungry they they only fix something for themself to eat?
No wonder people kick their kids out of the house.

Altruism is an end unto itself. Any conditions, including concern for what others are doing, means motives are not altruistic.
GREED- I meditate for your weak being, peace be to you.
