Well i saw this show on the discover channel and supposedly around every 62 mill. year another disaster comes and wipes out the world. there was a meteor, a gamma ray blast from the sun and, a shortage of oxygen. So there are many possibilities. All i know is that i hope i am not around when it happens!

It's an astronomical certainty that our sun will supernova in 4.5 billion years, that a planet killing asteroid will obliterate us in at least another 10 million years (we're already overdue on the next big hit). Other than that, its pure conjecture how we will be terminating the biosphere.

It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

Yes it may meet with an explosive perhaps catastrophic end, resulting in bits of the earth being broken into pieces, but given its trajectory outwards to nothing, ice dead and very very dark.

Now the question when it will become inhabitable to us due to wars, pollution and self anialation, is any-ones guess. Could happen though.

The earth is a ball of space junk. It possesses mass and energy, so its possible it could meet with a spectacular transformation, but not an end.

Its good to remember,, Nothing can be destroyed in this or any other universe, only transformed!

Probably a ball of fire millions of years from now. Global warming is bound to happen and it will intensify gathering enormous explosive power and like the "Big Bang" theory,
will most likely occur and the earth will be scattered about the universe. Some say we will implode. Humans should be long gone by then. Interesting to think about, but no one will ever have the right answer.

I dont think that the Sun will kill the Earth, and neither will global warming. What I think will happen is when the world will enter a state of crises due to some global event, be it the Sun or whatever, we humans will fire every nucluar, atomic, destructive weapons we have and cause the destruction of the world.

I think the Earth will likely perish in the sun. But I think humans would have killed themselves long before then...

The bible prophesies that God's kingdom will "crush" the world's governments and the false religions. Then there will be a new earth, a paradise, full of peace and security. When this day comes for those who are followers of him i will be very happy!
