According to the tale of Socrates about the cavern,we are only watchers of shadows. Reality is unknown to us and we cannot trust our perception. Indeed, we may well be players in the matrix or in a dream world.

Here is an example. Let's play a game.

Option: accept/decline?
Penalty.
Option: accept/decline?
Penalty. Reward. Reward.

Stated in this way, we might be playing any number of different games. All we know about the game is the point where we are directly interacting with it. You can try and exercise your options and see the outcome to get an idea how to make those decisions best... or I could just tell you what game it is and you'll probably have massive insight into the rules, strategy, and play based on that.

So it goes with life. Right now, many of us are playing very different games. We believe certain rules to be in existance with very little evidence, but we have to make these guesses just to try and get a grip on possible outcomes. If anyone knew for an absolute fact that one particular god existed or not, or that everything was a certain kind of dream or simulation, it might possibly give that person a massive advantage.

Or it might not, depending on the nature of reality.

But you can see, I hope, why the question is much more than an academic one...

What would scare me most is that someone would have the power over me, and I'm sure many others would feel the same way. Living in a fake world would have pluses and minuses, like we may be able to do things not usually possible in the real world, but there might also be a lot more dangers as well, (i.e. mythological creatures). I guess it would depend on the person, overall. It's hard to say, generally.

It depends on whether you think you can still acheive your life-goal without living in the truth. Many think that 'living in truth' (living in the real world) is more important but I would say life can be just as happy and fulfilling if we don't know we're all part of something like the Matrix. Besides, don't some people think that our whole world is just a little toy or dream for God and they seem fine with it.

it would only make a difference if you somehow figured out that this life was a dream and had undeniable proof of some sort that people could see. it almost like the question, "is there a place called heaven?", well there might be but no one knows for sure-there is no factual evidence to go from. but in my opinion, it wouldnt really make a difference, because you would still have to live your life regardless.

If you put enough restrictions on the idea of the dreamworld to make it work, then no, it doesn't make any difference because it IS no difference.

But a true "dream world" would violate internal consistency, because our own single minds are not enough to comprehend and create a physical system that holds up to close scientific scrutiny. No one human mind can make and support quantum physics, for example.

So if we lived in a dreamworld, we should be able, having conceived of the idea of living in a dreamworld, to "wake up" enough to experience phenomena that violate the rules of the world. If you believe in Yogis and Mindfreaks, then we probably do live in a dreamworld (so start waking up!). If you think those things are hoaxes, then we don't.

The difference would occur at some level of sublimation of soulfield or human biofield. What coherence one's life had, which resonates with divine Love, Truth, Joy, etc., would continue as the soul passes on from the screen of life.

the only distinction is that the slave has one grasp - a society has a militia of unelected autocratic Civil Servants laying down the regulations at the two national and native ranges. in actuality the united kingdom additionally has it on the international point from the european. As one historic Rome baby-kisser so eloquently placed it " the project with having unelected officers is they finally evaluate themselves the masters"

It would only make a difference if you were someone in a position of power or influence. Otherwise you'd just plod along the same ignorant, unaware and nonchalant.
