There is always something missing... and someone had told me that there is always one thing that changes your life somehow!

What was that for you? And when did it happen?

The day I left for Desert Storm and said good-bye to my parents. I was emotionally charged and gung-ho to serve my country.

My dad had been in Vietnam, but rarely spoke of it.

He told me that he loved me, to be careful, and to come home. It was the first time I had seen my dad cry. Everything I thought I knew about war and manhood changed that day.

mine happened a little over a year ago.... when a group of doctors came into my hospital room and told me that I MIGHT have anywhere from 2 MONTHS to 5 YEARS to live---- What I have isn't important... but how I chose to live the rest of my life IS. I became painfully aware how short time on earth really is and decided from that day that I would live my life to the fullest... I would be a better, nicer, sweeter, more giving person---giving to OTHERS more and to MYSELF more...(since I always put others first my entire LIFE, I have done and will continue to do things for ME too now.). I appreciate THINGS more---like the sound of the birds in the early morning or the warmth of the sun against my face. I have found that the sweetest sound on earth is the sound of an infant laughing... and I have learned that it's a lot harder to cry now then EVER before... I wake up every morning eager to greet the day.... I complain less, and I FINALLY have learned HOW to live. I have said before, Tim McGraw came out with a song a few years ago called LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING---and I can attest to the fact that that IS the way I am living my life now... I am enjoying life and all that it has to offer ... not sweating the small stuff and not worrying about ANYTHING... I feel more FREE now then I have EVER felt before.... I wish I could have learned how to be like this DECADES ago!!!!!!

One day in high school, a friend of mine was complaining to me that her friend told everyone her business. Then she proceeded to tell me examples of things she never told about her friend. At that point, I realized that she was doing to her friend exactly what had been done to her. It was that point that I realized that information, although can mostly be true, has to be run through some sort of bias filter. That even the things we read were written by someone who used their own perception and views to write it. Some things are more biased, as are some mediums, that we receive information through than others. I realized that I would have to use my own rationale to decipher what was real and what wasn't to make the best possible decisions I can. Decision-making is everything, no matter how much people like to blame everyone else for their own problems. Most problems come from not placing themselves in the correct situation and exposing themselves to the high probably of something going awry along the way. That affected my paradigm on everything else and will continue for as long as I live.

For me it was my entire 6th grade year. I met so many good friends that I know I can trust and will keep for a long, long time. My teachers were amazing and my grades were higher then ever, and I changed overall as a person. I became more outspoken and more tolerant of differences. I see everything differently now, and I'm definitely more confident in myself. It's funny, now that I've changed so much, I take a look at my classmates from before 6th grade, and I realize how much I don't know about them, and how much i assumed about them. (And also how wrong about them I was XD) And most of all, for once, I'm almost completely happy with what I am.

Many past events have changed my life from one decade to another.

The one thing that changed me for the better that truely changed my life style, is I changed and things around me changed. It happened with the knowledge I was to become a
grandmother for the first time. By the grace of God I began a new journey of attitude.

A single bullet. Yes it changed my life, it was a nightmare at first, my God how it changed my life. But it did force me to look at the world differently and therefore I am.

It happened 8 years, 1 month, and 27 days days ago...& yes I remembered the leap years.

When I turned age 33 (I am 55 now). I was worried about "growing old and turning age 40..."

I decided to do something, anything, about it. Arnold Schwarznegger was beginning to influence exercise and weightlifting and introducing it to people who never heard of either (me!).

So I went to a local store, found ONE book on weightlifting (Schwarznegger book on exercise for women), bought 3 sets of weight plates (concrete-filled plastic), a cheap weight bench, and begin a 22 year 'journey' of weightlifting, aerobics, stretching, diet and nutrition.

I owe everything to Mr. Schwarznegger. While everyone around me gets older, weaker, and sicker, I am strong, big and healthy!!
I went from a medium shirt and 190 lbs. to my present 284 pounds and wearing a XXL shirt.

Life is good!

Arnold Schwarznegger, with his autobiography books, also taught me how to write down goals, and achieve everything I ever wanted in life.

My goals are now about 80% done. The BEST is yet to come!!

having once been falsely accused of internet misuse at work, i found myself needing references and help from colleaguesd I trusted. I found myself sadly disappointed in one or two, and was downright betrayed by one ladder-climbing goody goody. This completely changed my outlook, changed the way I look at corporations and working life, changed my feelings towards trusting others - but also ledme to realise that other people whom i had seen as weaker or less friendly actually came through for me like gold dust.
But ultimately it hasmade me realise you have tolook after yourself, and to try and avoid large organisations as much as possible.
