Only when we run out of ways to profit off of each other will the world end. War is a business, just like peace is, and the highest bidder wins. So far peace has not come up with a loud enough voice, nor a large enough bank account to be heard or acknowledged. Unfortunate, but that's the way we are.

If by the end of the world you mean the destruction of the earth caused by the inevitable changes to the sun brought about by the exhaustion of all its chemical processes, then not in my lifetime, unless I live for another 5 Billion years. Nice, but unlikely.

Civilization as we know it may very well end in my life time. History teaches us that the collapse of every civilization is inevitable. Assuming that we may survive as long as the Roman empire and that I live to be 100 years old, then there is a 1/10 chance that our civilization will end during my lifetime.

Will our species go extinct in my life time? Probably not. Mass extinctions occur over millions of years. Statistically, the odds are better that I will be struck by lightning rather than there will be a global mass extinction during my lifetime.

well...according to the Mayans, it will. Unless of course, I die before the date they've predicted.

according to the Mayans, the world is supposed to end 2 days before Christmas in 2012.

But, according to the Bible, no man can predict the date of Christ's return, which is when the world will end.

So, I don't know at all.

No I don't think it will. Despite humankind's efforts to destroy
the world, I think that when the end finally comes, it will be
Mother Nature/ God, that makes the final decision.

well on the one hand science tells us theres about a trillion ways we could die in the next 50 years
but in my opinion i don't think it will, i think only when we truly deserve the end of the world will we recieve it. and so mankind is its own undoing
