i have my own opinion, but i'm curious to find out what others think.

do you think everyone has a soul mate in life and that they are meant to be together, or do you think that people meet and happen to fall in love with nothing to do with an outside influence?

my son has OCD and obsessive intrusive thoughts that he was diagnosed with.

there is a thought that has been bothering him pretty badly and he KNOWS its irrational but he says it keeps popping in his head and is distressed if there is a "possibility" that it could be true

the idea is:

what if his parent (me and my wife) have somehow in some crazy way we were awitched. almost replicas if you will. and are impersonating his parents. maybe this is due to some crazy black magic/spells/witchcraft or something weird like that.

can you help dissolve this theory with logical examples of why this ISNT possible?

What is better...
1. Stick to doing something even though you dont like it, but need it
2. Take a risk and leave it but that's what you really want to do
----

I ask this to see, because at work, I dont know if I am treated nicely and I feel uncomfortable working where I work, so is it true that human character develops when you stick to things you dont like...
or should we live by the principle of being true to our selves and leave what we dont like, assuming we cant change the circumstances?

There have been many books written on conciousness, but mostly, just people coming up with inconculsive and unprovable ideas.

There is a school of thought (among various schools of thought) that conciousness is simply a manifestation of matter (ie resulting from the inner workings of the brain), rather than some mysterious new "force".

If conciousness where just spun-off from physics, shouldn't it be measurable and follow the thermodynamic laws ?

The idea of my Heaven is probably different from your idea of Heaven. Are we going to a pre-designed Heaven or are we the designers of our personal Heaven?

Sunrise. Sunset.
Fragrant gardent flowers....
The cool morning breeze....
And lazy frolicking on green, rolling hills...

I almost forgot how they once made me feel
I miss them, even

How about you?

i am interested to hear what you think, teleology basically means to think that everything happens for a purpose

f.ex:
"we have eyes because we need to see"
"it rains because plants and rivers need water"
"we have night and day because we need to sleep"
etc

i heard that children use teleology very often to understand the world and gadgets.

because of our brains predisposition thats also the reason why we feel real anger when something like computers and cars stop working.

we are frustrated at them because a part of us thinks they know what they are doing.

you can join my philosophizing about this, or you can tell me about your experience with anger on non-living things.

have you ever thought about why you want to hit computers\mouse\keyboard when they obviously have no will of their own, nor can they feel the pain.
