The idea of my Heaven is probably different from your idea of Heaven. Are we going to a pre-designed Heaven or are we the designers of our personal Heaven?

I think in a sense you design your own Heaven. I think it's different for each person because we all have a different idea of paradise. I like how the movie "What dreams may come" starring Robin Williams dealt with the issue. A very interesting and beautiful concept of Heaven.

Heaven isn't a "place" so much as a state of being. Like a dream. Our soul doesn't exist in a physical plane. It is a bundle of energy. I think Heaven is more of a feeling of euphoria. Like the most happy & pleasurable moment of your life, lasting forever. Like having the sweetest dream you ever had & never waking up.

As mortal beings, living in a physical world it is hard for us to wrap our brains around the concept of souls, eternity & Heaven. We try to relate to it on a physical level. So we see Heaven as clouds & harps & pearly gates & Hell as a pit of fire. Or we imagine any other images of paradise or damnation, but it is always in physical terms. Just as we can't imagine God as a formless being so we picture him (mostly from Renaissance paintings and the like) as an old man with a beard...it just makes it easier for us to understand and relate to.

The truth is that we won't know Heaven until we're there. Until then, we can only guess. Heaven to me would be a feeling of joy & peace that would never end. It would be a place of beauty, filled with light. It would be a plane where I would be reunited with all my loved ones...

The movie "What dreams may come" was especially meaningful for me as an artist. I might paint my own Heaven. My Heaven would be very much like the one in the film.

I have had glimpses of Heaven, in nature, in Algonquin, on a clifftop overlooking the lake and the pines. Watching the sun rise. I see Heaven in magnificent works of art and architecture. ..Standing in St. Peter's in Rome. Or on a mountain across from Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. Whenever I see beauty, I feel the presence of God...

Whatever gives you the most joy, is Heaven for you. So yes, it's personal.

:)

Duh * * *. What do you want to be? an engineer?

Gold streets, Gold walls - Gold so bright with that Lamb SHINING FORTH, white Gold as clear as GLASS - that is shiny stuff. Oh, found at Revelation 21:18, vs 21.
Seems next to mention just the foundations of those walls, MADE of precious stones.
No temples.
The sun or moon could not be seen for the brightness of that LAMB, vs 22,23.

PURE water, a Bunch of FRUIT Trees, healing leaves, no curse found there. Revelation 22:1,2,3

No night. Hmmm, no sleep? Rev.22:5

Rev.21:1 says this is a New Heaven and a New Earth.

Reject this?? Rev 21:7 and 21:8 contrast believers and unbelievers, something about eternity in "fire and brimstone", a liquid fire like sulphur or LAVA that has a burning effect . . . FOREVER.

Except, before this happens, other things happen for about 1018 years, give or take 11 years or more (only 1007 given exactly in that BOOK).

Oh, supposed to be 1000 years on this same Earth, FIRST, to prove that you can still reject that LAMB even under PERFECT conditions, regardless of current efforts to improve the environment. It will be supernaturally cleaned up, then 1000 years with the LAMB in CONTROL, people will still reject the LAMB. Not as bright as after the last judgement, yet you will still KNOW the LAMB is around. Maybe Cable TV or something.

Well, or, past woe, satellite TV proves events happen fast, during a certain 7 years of conflicts. You should get the paperback "Left Behind" book series, two sets, 1 of adults and 1 of teens, on different paths. When each story was printed, some of the tech stuff obviously had not been built before the stories came out in the late '90's/early '00's.

You can design anything you want to place your FAITH in. I saw on TV, boat races where they have boats built of "water resistant" cardboard and those built of concrete. Sealed Concrete floats only if it covers a large amount of water, same as steel. Float what you want, and make sure it stays dry as you get attacked in your personal heaven.

Other parts of the Bible suggests we will have "OUR PERSONAL MOMENTS" with the Creator of Heaven. Some look forward to the BAD.

In a sense yes. Heaven may differ from one individual to another. Indeed as what you said one could pre-designed the place called heaven. You can make your home as a heaven based on your personal thought and idea where you could relax out of all your stress. You could do all the things with full concentration where peace resides abundantly. Therefore i well agree with what's in your mind.

First of all, it there is indeed a heaven, it is not a place -- it is a state of mind. I think it is a mystical state of mind -- like nirvana -- in which we become one with the universe. This state is probably the same for everyone who experiences it, although it may have some personal overtones at the periphery. For instance, if you are a Christian, you may find yourself visualizing Christian imagery when you are coming in or out of the universal state.

In the Bible there is very scarse information about what Heaven could be like. The notion of living forever is pretty preposterous really... It's the struggle and not knowing that makes life interesting. If we had nothing to strive for, nothing to lose, and protect that couldn't work.

in many texts, the “heavens” stand for God himself and his sovereign place. His throne is in the heavens, it is, in the spirit realm over which he additionally rules. i think we're all going to our own personal heaven. heaven is paradise. if it were pre-designed, we'd have to be pre-designed, right? and since we're obviously all quite different, our heavens must be, too.

"The kingdom of heaven is at hand". When he said this he meant what he said. It is within your reach, not in the future or the clouds. Yes you are right. It is a personal state of mind.

I think heaven is probably just a state of mind.
If you've lived a good life, your mind will be at ease after your death
If you've done wrong, you won't ever be able to rest easy.
